WHAT IS INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE (ICC)? AND ITS CONSTITUTION?
Under the PoSH Act, every employer is required to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) through a written order. Establishing the ICC is mandatory to address and resolve complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.

The Committee shall consist of:

🔹 Chairperson : A senior-level woman employee. If not available, she can be nominated from another office/unit/department/workplace of the same employer.

🔹 Minimum Two Members : Selected from employees who are committed to the cause of women or who have legal knowledge or experience in social work.

🔹 External Member: From an NGO/association committed to the cause of women or a person familiar with the issues of sexual harassment.

🔹 Important Requirement : At least half of the members of the committee must be women.

The ICC plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and respectful workplace and providing a fair mechanism for addressing complaints.
