Can't get Windows vista updates thru Portable Update

Anyone else having problems getting Vista updates? Portable Update works excellent for all Windows OS's except this one. It simply hangs & I have literally left it running on my PC for a few DAYS. I daresay the problem is on Microsoft's end. Still, can anyone help?
