Wisconsin is one of 41 states that do not require gun stores to secure their inventory with gun safes or locks; surveillance systems or alarms; bars on the windows; or barriers to prevent cars smashing through the front door.

Kuhl said that he could not recall exactly how many guns were stolen in the 2016 burglary, though he said he thought it was fewer than 10. According to the Rock County sheriff, a suspect in the case was arrested in that earlier incident, and Kuhl said he believed all those weapons were recovered.

The tally of lost firearms can fluctuate depending on how many visits the bureau pays to dealers in a given year. The ATF sets a goal of inspecting every licensed dealer at least once every three to five years, but it has struggled to meet its own benchmark because staffing levels have not kept pace with the increase in dealers. In 2015, the ATF inspected 6.3 percent of the nearly 140,000 licensed dealers that year, the lowest percentage since 2005.

Murfreesboro, TN - Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the individual responsible for the robbery at the 7/11 store located on Veterans Parkway, which occurred on April 19th at approximately 4:30 a.m.

DISCLAIMER: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The arrest records or information about an arrest that are published or reported on NewsRadio WGNS and www.WGNSradio.com are not an indication of guilt or evidence that an actual crime has been committed.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, then robbed a jewelry store near 3050 East. After that, he crashed the car on I-15 near St. George Blvd. and fled on foot. Southbound I-15 was closed temporarily as a result, but it has since re-opened.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male in all-black clothing. He should be considered armed and dangerous, they said. Anyone who sees anything suspicious is asked to call the department at 435-627-4300.

New York City police are searching for an armed shoplifter who allegedly opened fire inside a Times Square store, shot a customer and later fired at officers during a police chase along busy Manhattan streets.

The first shooting took place just after 7 p.m. Thursday at JD Sports at 42nd Street and Broadway after three people allegedly shoplifted from the business, the New York Police Department told USA TODAY Friday morning.

During a press conference Thursday night, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told reporters the melee began when a security guard stopped the suspected shoplifters at the store's front door, asked them for their receipt, took a shopping bag from them and began questioning them.

He now faces charges of murder and attempted murder in the grocery store shooting that killed Ray Wishropp, 49, and wounded two other people -- a 50-year-old man who was shot multiple times in the shoulder and grazed in the cheek, as well as a 26-year-old woman who was also shot in the shoulder.

Wilson was arraigned Wednesday, remanded and will appear in court Friday. A not guilty plea was issued on his behalf. If convicted he faces 25 years to life in prison, according to the district attorney's office.

News 4 New York reached out to Brian Carmody, Wilson's attorney, who told us he spoke to his client briefly before his arraignment. Carmody said that Wilson was shot in the head at 19 and is still dealing with the lingering effects of that injury.

"It's truly remarkable that the arrest of an armed suspect who was inside an apartment building that was full of civilians was taken down, arrested without incident, without further violence," Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said.

Nassau County cops, along with County Executive Laura Curran, shared more details about Wilson's background Wednesday. He has prior assault and weapons arrests in Maryland, where he lived before moving to New York, dating back to 2006. He was shot in the head in Maryland in 2014 after a gun battle and was charged with second-degree attempted murder in that case, the outcome of which wasn't made immediately clear on Wednesday.

Wilson appeared to have been living on Long Island since at least 2016. Nassau County officials said cops twice in three years responded to calls about a mental health crisis involving him -- in 2016 and in 2019.

Authorities haven't publicly speculated on a possible motive in the deadly grocery store attack. No information has been released on whether Wilson may have specifically targeted the victims, who were shot in an upstairs office. Their names haven't been released.

Authorities said Wilson, who family and fellow employee said was a shopping cart wrangler at the store, went to the office area immediately after arriving for work on Tuesday and shot the two survivors before going down the hall to shoot the store manager. In total he shot his handgun seven times at five different people, according to police, who also added they do not know if the weapon was legally possessed. The weapon has not been recovered.

According to police, based on interviews, Wilson was a troubled employee who allegedly made unwanted advances toward employees and had conflicts, including a female employee who complained about unwanted advances and gifts as well as other shopping cart employees who complained about aggressiveness by Wilson.

Wilson was allegedly brought in and spoken to by managers about behavior about a month ago. On Tuesday, prior to shooting, police say Wilson went into the store, talked to the manager about transferring to another location. This talk was described as uneventful, however, 40 minutes later, he returned to the building and opened fire, police said.

Wilson then fled the scene and witnesses reported seeing him run off with a small handgun after the gun attack, police said. Nassau County's police commissioner said that tips from people who knew Wilson, in addition to surveillance video, helped track the suspect. NBC New York obtained surveillance video showing what appeared to be Wilson walking on a Hempstead sidewalk after the shooting.

He allegedly tried to escape on a bus, according to police reports, but he was later found after a four-hour search, found on Terrance Avenue in Hempstead, about a seven-minute drive from the store. (Here's everything we know about Wilson right now.)

Meanwhile, the family of Wishropp came together to grieve on Wednesday. A longtime friend said the father of seven had a big heart, willing to do whatever he could to help others. Family members were seen at his home in Valley Stream Wednesday, devastated over the loss.

"We are mourning the loss of someone very, very important to our family and we appreciate all the support and comfort," said Alex Bernard, a cousing of Wishropp's. "You always see these things on the news and you say your heart goes out to people. But when it hits home that it was your family member, it hurts."

"Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, our associates, customers and the first responders who have responded heroically to this tragic situation," the statement continued. "At this time, we are cooperating fully with local law enforcement on the investigation. The store will remain closed until further notice, and we appreciate the Long Island community's support during this difficult time."

It is an unnamed multi-story shopping mall. There are various defunct stores located in the mall, including clothing stores, food stores, pet stores, chemists, bars and laundromats. At some point before 2003, the Innocentz have claimed it as their turf and armed gang members patrol its many floors.

After James Earl Cash rescues his family at the Carcer City Zoo, he is tasked by the director Lionel Starkweather to find and watch a special work-in-progress video recording. The director hid the tape and a video camera at the abandoned mall. Cash gets a gun inside a laundromat and fights his way to the video tape, killing many Innocentz members in his way.

Eventually, Cash finds the video tape in a recording store, and a video camera in a toy store. Cash gets the camera and finds out that the camera is broken, the director tells Cash to find a television in a bar.

Cash views the video, which shows an Innocentz member taunting the camera before decapitating Cash's relative gruesomely. Enraged, Cash shatters the television set on which he was watching the tape, while Starkweather claims that he could never have allowed Cash's family free after they saw a production of his snuff film, confirming that Cash's family are all dead and that Cash had no way of saving them.

Wisconsin authorities and the FBI have expanded their urgent search for an \"extremely dangerous\" suspect who they say robbed a gun store, stealing at least 16 weapons, and who may be plotting an act of mass violence with his eye on President Trump.

Spoden identified the burglary suspect as Joseph Jakubowski, 32, of the Janesville area of Wisconsin. Spoden said more than 150 law enforcement officers were now engaged in an urgent nationwide manhunt for Jakubowski. Authorities said they did not know whether he was still in Rock County or even in Wisconsin.

Jakubowski allegedly broke into the Armageddon Supplies gun shop in Janesville Tuesday at 8:40 p.m. and stole about 16 high-end firearms. Thirty minutes later, Spoden said, a car was found engulfed in flames near the shop. Spoden said the car belonged to Jakubowski.

At least two assault rifles and several high-end handguns are among the stolen firearms, a law enforcement source told ABC News. Jakubowski may have stolen silencers as well, the source said. Armageddon Supplies advertises silences on its Facebook page.
