Hello everyone,
It seems like just yesterday we were gathered at Refuge for the 2012 Portland Zine Symposium. Thanks to everyone who came and supported PZS, tabled, bought and traded zines, attended workshops, volunteered, or invited friends to come check it out. You all helped make this year's event a complete success, and we couldn't do it without you.
That being said, we are already looking toward next year! We're looking for dedicated, responsible zine lovers to help us organize for next year. Yes, it is a lot of work, but it is also extremely rewarding and PZS organizers are a rad bunch of people! We are
holding an open meeting on Tuesday October 16 at 7pm at the Independent Publishing Resource Center (1001 SE Division) for all those who are interested in learning more about what it means to be an organizer. We'll go over our timeline, the different areas of focus we need help with, and choose the theme for next year.
Putting this event on each year takes a lot of work from a lot of different people, but with a solid group of organizers, we can make it happen again, for the 13th year in a row. If you are interested in organizing but can't make the meeting, let us know so we can keep you in the loop. If you know of someone who might be interested, please forward this to them so they may attend. We appreciate your help in making PZS a reality each year.
