Portland Oldtime Gathering - Singing Workshop this Saturday 1/17

Hi Everyone!

This is a final reminder and all the details for the Sacred Harp workshop at the Portland Oldtime Music Gathering. If you are in town and available, we'd love to have people who have sung before in all the sections to help newcomers learn how it should sound. If you are newer to our tradition and want to attend in order to learn from the workshop, that's great too!

Where: Alberta Abbey, 126 NE Alberta St, Portland, OR 97211, Abbey Studio room, about halfway down the stairs.

When: 1:00-2:30, this Saturday 1/17

What: I'll do a brief 101, answer questions, and then we will have a normal singing from the green book, hopefully for at least half of the total 1.5 hours, maybe a little more.

Please arrive a bit early to park and find the room as it will be bustling! Let the folks at the door know you are with the Sacred Harp singers and they will give you a daytime wristband for the festival! If you'd like to check out other events and workshops going on, you can find those here. Evening concerts & square dance require a separate ticket. And lastly, please bring your book if you have one, as I suspect we will be using all of our loaners!
