Greetings, good people of Portland Sacred Harp -

I'm wrangling housing for our upcoming October Convention, Oct 17-18!
I thank you in advance for your generosity in sharing your beds and couches with out-of-town guests who'd like to be hosted.

It would be tremendously helpful if you'd email me (directly, i.e. reply just to me) if you're willing to host. In particular, could you share:
  • Your address
  • Number of sleeping spaces available
  • Whether your home has pets
  • Whether you are able to transport guests to/from the Laurelhurst club if they need transportation
  • The dates you'd be willing to host someone (i.e. just the weekend, or before/after too if the singer is coming for a longer visit etc)

Thanks in advance! I really appreciate having this info by email, as I'm liable to forget if you just mention it to me in person.

Also - poshhousin...@gmail.com also goes to me; feel free to direct a traveling singing there if they'd like to make a request.

gratefully,

Dorothy (the younger)

Hello, all!

A quick update from your October Convention Housing Chair to say that we're currently at a 1:1 ratio of guests and beds. I'll be reaching out soon to the folks that have offered a space to propose a prospective guest.

As such, unless we have any more offers of beds or couches from the group, I'll decline additional requests for lodging that come my way. We tend to get a few in the last couple of weeks (/days) before the convention, so if you feel moved to help out, please let me know. I always run the potential guest by the host first to make sure it sounds like a good fit.

Thanks in advance to those who have already reached out to me, and to those who have been contacted directly by a singer for arrangements!

thanks so much,

Dorothy M
