thank you for the prompt banning!
--a scam bait email with similar trade but different name and phone number happened just yesterday, Sept. 4th, on the Eugene Sacred Harp singers' google list serv...
source email address was "Lincoln Addy" <lincolnaddy3 "at"
gmail.com", but text body referred to ambiguous "we" and referred for follow-up to a "Tyler" with phone number
786-927-4854 given.
Also, notice on PDX list another minutes later from "Victoria King", similar, needs banned as well.
Our Eugene list maintenance isn't super hot--on point, and I'm not a facilitator / mediator / manager whatever is proper lingo,
but I got immediately aggressive in texting back from my personal cell phone number to the given number,
demanding that the infiltrator stop scamming the list, drop us, stand down, you name it, go away...
(again, that was to "Tyler" at
786-927-4854-- I note with interest that today's second duct work email to PDX list, from maybe a Victoria King, no longer gives a follow-up name or phone number, but instead only asks for email follow-up...)
Haven't heard back or seen any other communications...
My methods are crude and clumsy,
but just in case the info is useful for more nuanced webmasters,
I give this story,
esp. the factoid of Eugene singers google group getting targeted by duct services only very few days earlier, just in case that helps anyone find and stop the source(s).
Apologies for imprecise rambling--hoping that occasional nugget of hard info might be useful.
Thanks again!
(for singing, for good web management, for buying a batch of Oregon new edition Sacred Harps to help us all save on shipping, for "holding down the fort", for everything you all do up in PDX, beacon on the hill so to speak -- thank you!)
