For those interested in using MURS frequencies... see link to FCC Part 95 for MURS rules

Thanks for providing the MURS link. Just a bit of a caution since I
know a lot of NETs have Baofeng radios.... While these radios (and
others of their ilk) can receive and transmit on the MURS frequencies,
they are not certified for use on MURS. It is possible for NET team to
use MURS since it is an unlicensed service however they need specific
radios for MURS use. The typical MURS radio runs about $50 on Amazon
(the Anytone ANILE-8R is an example) and must be programmed
specifically for MURS.

Johh - I agree with your comments on MURS frequencies.. at only 2 watts this frequency doesn't add much usefulness. I recommend we NOT 'modify' radios to use these frequencies if they are specifically designed to use them, as it may go against manufacturer's FCC compliance. Additionally, the MURS frequencies are being used for other applications, i.e. http://www.gotenna.com/pages/how-it-works
