Sam Mogannam: grocer & author

Our keynote speaker this year is the founder of the San Francisco grocery chain Bi-Rite Market and author of the new book  Bi-Rite Market's Eat Good Food: A Grocer's Guide to Shopping, Cooking, and Creating Community Through Food. Sam brings us a perspective on how grocery stores can help us bring our local food connections to the next level.  In addition to the keynote, Sam will participate in a round-table discussion at one of the workshops so that we can all participate in the conversation and apply it to Portland.

Farmer-Chef 101 - to learn the basics of direct sourcing
Sourcing Strategies: The Art and Systems of Successful Local Buying - success stories & tips!
Heritage Breeds Panel & Tasting: Pork & Duck meat animals of a lineage meant to be pastured
