Hey all,

I'm planning on posting a Show HN at 15:00 UTC which should give us decent coverage of North America (8 AM Pacific, 11 AM Eastern) while still being early enough for much of Europe.

The general message I want to push is a bit cautious and humble:

- This is a beta release, it's not audited or ready for Serious Business yet.
- It is far enough along to be interesting, and possibly useful for side projects.
- We'd like feedback / validation of the design ideas.

- We're moving quickly and expect it to be effectively ready by the time Persona is decommissioned at the end of November.

- We'll run a reference implementation, but it's not actively supported infrastructure: no one is on call, this is a hobby project.

- We are literally running on hobby-level dynos at Heroku and using free-tier Redis / SMTP providers.

- The plan is to make it trivial for everyone to run their own, just... don't do that for another week or two while we kick the tires and make sure it's ready for a 1.0 release.

Rough plan:

- 14:30 UTC: "Show Lobsters" post on https://lobste.rs/

- 15:00 UTC: "Show HN" post on https://news.ycombinator.com/

- 18:00 UTC: Amplify by tweeting the Show HN link

- 19:00 UTC: If all is going well, post to Persona's old dev-identity mailing list

I'm leaning toward keeping the Portier-branded twitter accounts dormants; monitoring Twitter can be a full time job, and I'm not sure we want that burden quite yet.

I should be awake and in #portier by 14:00 UTC. Please log into the demo a few times and make sure everything works before then.
