Contributing to portia in GSOC 2018

Hi everyone!
My name is Divyadeep Singh and I am a 3rd year (Information Technology) student at HBTU, Kanpur, India. I am new to contributing to open source softwares and would like to start my journey by contributing to Portia and hopefully participating in GSOC 2018 for the same. I am familiar with web scraping and have scarped a few websites using python scripts (without using portia or any other scrapping library).
The project "Increase Crawling Performance through page clustering" interests me and I would love to work on it during my summer vacation. As for now, I wish to contribute to Portia by fixing issues and would really appreciate if someone would point me in the right direction.
