Link types to be followed in scrapyd from Portia spider

What are the link types to be followed by slybot?

I mean links ending with .html, .xml, .jpg, .png, .pdf, doc, etc.,

Is portia follow if I give the pattern "jpg" and "pdf" in follow_patterns while deploying in scrapyd?
