Hello, I just bought this game today and finished installing. I was playing the game, and remembered a few cheats I used to use in the past. Most of them rely on a command code called TestingCheatsEnabled. In order to use it, you're supposed to hold ctrl+shift+C and type the command testingcheatsenabled true. This is supposed to turn on testing cheats such as addRP and addQP, as well as reset bugged objects. However, the system is not recognizing the command code. I looked it up on the web, and so far all of the suggested fixes require a minor edit to the Commands.ini folder- changing the 0 to a 1. The guide instructs to save the file under All Files, and not to save it as a Text file. After carefully following each of these steps, this cheat is still not working. I'm very disappointed and frustrated. Help, please? For me, the play experience is so much better with access to this command code, and the cheats it unlocks. (I don't play for achievements because of it but oh well lol) Is there a workaround for this issue, or am I unable to play the purchased version of this game using this particular command code?
@DeadMenDL , some of the cheat codes were added to the game to allow the devs to test certain situations. Quite often, if certain cheats are enabled it can corrupt your saved games rendering them unplayable. Sims Medieval, while sharing a similar game architecture to Sims 3, is a game that is limited in scope so the Devs may have disabled or not included these cheats to be easily available in game. If you found a way to enable them, use them at your own risk. I would advise not using them.
I am having this problem, but I know I did have access to the cheats at one time because several of my previous save games have the clothing filters off. When I opened the Commands.ini, it was already set to 1. I've tried changing it to 0, restarting the comp, changing it back to 1, but nothing will let me unlock the outfits on my new saves. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
@tigofmanycolors , sometimes a fresh start is needed without uninstalling and reinstalling the game. So to return the game to vanilla state, locate your Sims Medieval folder (found Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims Medieval) and move it to your Desktop. Do not copy and paste or create a shortcut, actually move the file. Once this is done, start up the game as normal to allow for a new folder to generate. Your saved games are safe on your Desktop. Try starting up a new game just to make sure the game works and play for about an hour or so again to test the game play and make sure all is well. You can save if you wish, but that is up to you. Now that you have a fresh, new folder, try the instructions as listed in the guides to see if you can enable the cheats.
the file must be edited in Notepad or another text editor. if you use Word, it may save it as a Word document or add a .txt extension to the edited file. At best your edit won't work as you created a new file, at worst you will need to repair your install, as you changed the file format.
I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
Update to my dilemma with the sim id thing. I went through and changed all of my sims last and first names and made them each different. I don't know if that was part of the problem, but now it is working for me again except I found that I need a space between the first and last name which I could have sworn I didn't need before but now I do. Anyway, it is working for me again. Thank to everyone who tried to help with the problem!
My relationship cheats all of a sudden do not work. I have used them a ton previously and they always worked perfectly. Suddenly this week they don't work. I enter them in and hit enter and nothing happens. Triple checked spellings and everything
@BeefyFire Hi! That sounds really frustrating. Do any of the sims in your example have special characters in their names? For example, the cheat doesn't work with sims like Paka'a Uha because of the apostrophe. If that's not the issue, would you mind trying these suggestions, if you haven't already?
- If you're playing on PC or Mac and have any mods, create a new save or copy of your current save with the "save as" feature as a test save. Exit the game and move your Mods folder to the desktop. Then, delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing. If the cheat works without mods, then you will need to test them in batches to find the culprit. You'll want to delete that cache file each time you load a batch of mods and before opening the game to test.
To activate Sims 4 cheats on PS4 and Xbox One, load into the game and hold down all four triggers at the same time. A thin textbox will appear at the top of the screen. Enter "testingcheats true" in the textbox to enable cheats.
While motherlode and rosebud are beloved cheats, an easier way to get your sims the Simoleons they need is by typing "Money X" with X being the amount you want to give your household. You can also use this to subtract funds from your household.
The Sims 4 official FAQ says that seasonal events with the NPC Jessica Holiday aren't currently planned for The Sims 4 on console, but items from past events (like Sugar Skulls, Holiday Cracker Plushies, Decorative Eggs, and Magic Beans) are still in the game. You can get them using cheats.
In the Objects by Function menu select the Decorations tab. Go to the Misc decorations, scroll through all the new items, and you'll find Sugar Skulls and the other event collectibles. Buy them, drop them in the world, and have your Sims put the items in their inventory to have them add it to their "Household Collections."
If you enable additional cheats using the testinghcheats true code and then type in cas.fulleditmode, you will enable all CAS abilities. Then you can press and hold A + B or X + O while clicking on the objects listed below to produce a menu that lets you select the corresponding effect.
I heard on this site that you can add skill points to your sim by using the cheat "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" I figured out how to get the cheat to work but how do you raise skills with it. Please help me!
Please do not use this box to ask a question, it will be rejected - this box is for answers ONLY. If you want to ask a question for this game, please use the ask a question box which is above on the right.
I think what you do is click on the one of the filled bars in the skill place and drag it over to the far right. All the empty bars will then fill in. Kind of like click and dragging the hunger and sleep bar and dragging it over to the right.
If you want your sim to have a memory of maxing all skills, let them study the skill first. While they are studying
Use the cheat boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true
Click on the skill and drag.
I had the same problem. I'm not sure if it's a glitch with the game or what, but here's how to make it work: open the cheat box, type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, hit enter and the cheat box will disappear, open the cheat box again, type move_objects on and hit enter, then go into the skills tab and shift+click on the level of skill that you want. For example, if you want to maximize the cooking skill shift+click on the highest bubble for the cooking skill. Now here's the glitch: sometimes you have to hold down shift and click a bunch of times before the bubbles fill in. A couple times it has taken me almost 20 clicks, but it always works eventually. Hope this helps!
Hello, I read about this problems in another site and a guy write a solution, with me, it work, so I want to share you about this
If you go to options and changes graphic settings such as resolution or transparency, the drags would start working. With me, I change the resolution from 800x600 to 1366x768 and it work perpectly
