There are too many. It doesn't all depend on the dua', but it depends on your sincerity and ability to lower yourself while reading it. Even reciting a simple "Bismillah" can be unbelievably powerful. And remember that it's not all about the duas.. if it needs work or study, do so along with the duas.

Besides sis Ishq's recommendation, some other duas: Dua' Mashlool (otherwise known as "Dua' al-shaab al-ma'khoothi bithanbih"), Dua' mi'raj, Naadi 3aliyyan. If your desire is huge, there's a 14-day dua you have to do consistently. I know a man who escaped prison because his family devoted themselves to it. It's simple.. 1600 salawaats gifted daily, starting on a Monday. Each day you send these salawaats to one of the infallibles, until you reach Imam Zaman (ajfs). Meaning, 16 rounds on the masbaha each day.. preferrably on wuduu' and with no interference.

I know you said not to ask what it is, but it's easier to figure out which dua' you want to read, based on your desire. "Khazaanatul Asraar" is an excellent book to refer to.. if you don't have it, I can always scan pages from it. I forgot the name of it, but there's a dua' that the prophet (saws) says he's afraid that everyone might read it, b/c it's so powerful and sure to be mustajaab that people might quit work altogether.

That's the one I was thinking of :) For those who arent familiar w/the story, there was a man who was constantly late to his classes, because there was a body of water between his house and the place he attended for Islamic courses. Sayyed Murtadha (I believe it was) jokingly told him, "just read bismillah and walk on the water." The man was so innocent and sincere, he took his advice seriously (sort of in a gullible manner). When he read bismillah the next day, he walked on the water. When he got to class the Sayyed asked him how he got there so early. The man told him, "I recited bismillah, just as you told him." The sayyed was amazed, he couldn't do it himself.

In mafateeh al-jinan, based on narrations, it's recommended to read Surat al-Mulk before going to bed.. thousands of angels will protect you and ask Allah (swt) to forgive you. If someone dies during the day after reciting Surat Al-Rahman in the afternoon, he dies a shaheed.

ok i dont know jack really but from experience if u want a miracle to happen - you have to be sincere weep and talk to Allah with your whole heart - as if you are desparate hiding nothing. You can do this by saying (bismillah) saying salwaat then talking to God in your language.

Du'a Noor Kabeer (the longer version) (on duas.org) (noor refers to Allah (sawt)- manifesting his power and majesty in ahl-ul-bait who are his light) recited for 40 consecutive nights after the isha prayer is recommended for sickness, this could be well-combined with du'a -e- tawasool and hadith-e-kisa when necessary and the spirit is prpared and has faith in it.

You know they say if 40 people gather together and pray for something they wont go away empty handed...I once asked 40 people on shiachat to do aamal-e-ashur for me on a Friday. We should organize that, inshaAllah on one time 40 people to come online and do dua's for everyone.

Salman Alfarisi (ra) enquired more on the thawaab of this dua'. The prophet (saws) said, "Oh aba 3abdillah, [wallathee ba3athani bil7aqqi nabiyyan] if a crazy person recited this dua' he will wake up that hour, and if a woman who has hard labor recites this dua', the child will be released as quick as the blinking of an eye, and if.... Yes Oh Salman, if a person recites this dua' for 40 nights, Allah (swt) will forgive him for whatever was between him and his Lord, and whatever was between him and human beings. [Wallathy ba3athani bil7aqqi nabiyyan] Oh Salman, nobody recites this dua' without the hardships and stress and sickness of this dunya is removed from his heart. Yes Oh Salman, whosoever prays to Allah (swt) with this dua' (a7sanahu am lam ya7sunhu?) and then went to sleep with the intention of gaining thawaab, Allah (swt) sends him with every letter from this dua' 1,000 angels whose faces are brighter than the sun.

And Salman said, "Would Allah (swt) give all this thawaab?" The prophet (saws) said, "Oh Salman, don't tell the people until I tell you greater news than what I have just told you." Salman (saws) said, "Oh prophet of Allah and why do you command me thus?" The prpohet (saws) said, "I am afraid that people will leave their work and rely upon the dua'." Salman said, "tell me, Oh Rasool Allah" The prophet (saws) said, "Whosoever prays with this Dua' and during his life he committed large sins, and then dies during that night or day after reciting this dua' to Allah (swt), he will die a martyr (shaheed) and if he died Oh Salman without forgiveness from Allah (swt), He (swt) will forgive his deeds with His generosity and it is this dua'...." Here is the transliteration - this dua is fantastic - if u want a wish recite it 3 times then express your wish. Allah gave me a great blessing/miracle after i read this 3 time *hint hint those with exams they think they will fail* I revised all my anatomy for an exam weekend before and was panicking. Alhamdulillah for this dua - recite it sincerely and it will stop u panicking ease your stress and give u confidence inshallah. But do some work as well lol

He is the Administrator without any minister and without consultation with any of his slaves. He is the First, who cannot be described. He is Eternal and will live forever, (even) after the annihilation of all creatures. He is the greatest Cherisher and Sustainer and the Light of the earths and heavens and their Creator and Maker out of nothing. He created both of them and separated them - a proper separation. The heavens became stable in obedience to His commandment and the earths became fixed on the surface of the water with their pegs. Then our Lord the All-Merciful subdued the high heavens and ruled from the Throne. Everything that is in heaven and in the earth and in between them and what is below the earth belongs to Him. So, I bear witness that verily You are Allah. There is none to elevate what You hath lowered and no one to exalt him whom You leaves in disgrace and no one to bring into disgrace him whom You exalts and no one to prevent him upon whom You bestoweth Thy favour and no one to bestow anything, which You hath withheld. You are Allah, there is no god but Thee. Who existed when there was neither the stable sky nor the broad earth nor the brilliant sun nor the dark night, nor the bright day, nor the vast and stormy sea, nor any sublime and stable mountain, nor any revolving planet, nor the luminous moon, nor any blowing wind, nor any raining cloud, nor flashing lightning, nor any praising thunder, nor any breathing soul, nor any flying bird, nor any blazing fire, nor any flowing water. You existed before the existence of everything and You created everything and controlled everything and originated everything. You enriched some and reduced others to poverty, caused some to die and brought others to life, and made some people glad and other weep. Verily You rules from the Throne. You are present in all gatherings, and are the witness of all secrets, and the ultimate goal of all supplications, the expeller of all sorrows, the affluence of every needy person, the stronghold for every refugee, security for everyone who is terror-stricken, a shield for the weak a treasure for the indigent, the destroyer of griefs, the helper of the virtuous. Such is Allah, our Lord. There is no god but He. You satisfieth such of Thy slaves as trust unto Thee. You are the protector of him who is firmly attached to Thee and humiliates himself before Thee, a shield for him who seeks refuge with Thee, the help of him who looks up to Thee for help, the forgiver of sins for him who begs Thy pardon, the complier of the tyrant, the most grand of the grand, the most great of the great, the master of masters, the Lord of lords, the Succour of the grieved, the Helper of those crying for help, the Responder to the call of the distressed, the best of all listeners, the best of all observers, the best of all judges, the quickest of all reckoners, the most merciful of all the merciful the best of all forgivers, the satisfier of the needs of the faithful, and the hearer of the appeals of the virtuous. You are Allah, there is no god but Thee. You are the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds You are the Creator and I am a creature. You are the Master and I am a servant, You are the Lord and I am a slave. You are the Provider while I am provided with sustenance, You are the Giver while I am a beggar, You are the Generous while I am a miser. You are the Mighty while I am weak, You are the Noble while I am humble. You are the independent while I am needy. You are the Master while I am slave. You are the Forgive of sins while I am sinful. You are the Omniscient while I am ignorant. You are the forbearing while I am hasty. You are the All-Merciful and I have been treated with mercy. You are the Provider of safety but I am involved in suffering. You are the Responder and I am the distressed. And I bear witness that verily You are Allah, there is no god but thee thou bestoweth favours upon Thy slaves even without their asking.
