Civil War monument restored in time for Veterans' Day

Standing in the park at the intersection of New Broad Street, Pearl
Street and the Boston Post Road in Port Chester was a decrepit Civil
War monument. It was first erected in April 1906 in commemoration of
the soldiers killed in the Civil War. The monument was in desperate
need of repair. The bronze soldier atop the monument was deteriorated
and green, the eagle that once sat on top had been stolen, and the
granite was dirty and marred by graffiti......
