Hello Choteau Community!
First, I would like to thank Steve Dogiakos for his long and dedicated participation in CAPA. He's been with us since the beginning some seven years ago. He has contributed to tourism, infrastructure, and business projects. He's a wealth of knowledge; he will be missed! Thank you, Steve, for your service!
The Port Authority (CAPA) has been busy in the last months. In summary:
- We completed the LWCF grant with the Lions Club refurbishing the tennis courts and installing filters and a boiler in the pool.
- We are contracting with L'Heureux Page Werner Architects in GF to do a feasibility study of the Old Hospital for child care center and housing.
- We received a $2M+ grant for tourism infrastructure - Weatherbeater, Old Trail Museum, and MT Dinosaur Center which we are implementing.
- We partnered with Choteau Bear Smart on a grant for education and assistance.
Plus, we need your assistance! I'm attaching an RFQ for a Project Manager for our tourism grant. Please share and encourage folks to apply! In a couple weeks, we'll be sending out a tourism/community survey, and we'd appreciate it if you would fill it out. And finally, if you're interested in serving on the Port Authority Board helping to support community activities and projects, please let me know!
Thank you and enjoy your summer!
Best,
Mary Sexton
