Hi Team,

How are you.I need to discuss about the WCM requirements of our project and whether its possible  to implement or not.

We have around 15 help pdfs across our application. And these PDF need to be shown in Custom Portlets on demand.i,e If User clicked on each link in Custom Portlet  then he should be able to download the respective PDF.

Which could be the best way to implement. I cannot use Web Content viewer portlet why because Help links exists in Custom Portlet.

I should be able to download the WCM Content from Custom Portlet .

Regards,
Santhosh Ranjan

Dear Santosh,

Please use file component per file and Refer that file component in a content and use that content link for custom portlet. Repeat this for all pdfs. I did this in our project. I hope that answered your question. Thank you.

Imtiaz Syed

I followed this approach  for constructing the URL, But its didn't worked.

http://[HOST]/wps/wcm/connect/[LIBRARY]/[SITE]/[SITE_AREA_PATH]/[CONTENT]

Can you please share how to create the content link.

In addition to the below process, you can also try the following:

1. Once the file component is created for PDF you can copy its URL by right clicking on uploaded PDF in read mode of the component.
2. Create a URL using 'New URL' (provide custom unique names as desired) in manage pages and paste the URL in advanced options in HTML section (URL should be relative from "/wps/...").
3. In JSP create hyperlinks using URLGeneration tags using the known unique names for the created pagedURLs.

After rendering your hyperlinks refer to the WCM component (uploaded file) and ready to read or download or save.
