App Updating

Hello,

I am glad I found PostGIS USB. It has make my development life easier.

I am still playing with the tools, but I have the following questions (before I break something I cannot fix yet):

Can I load/update PostgreSQL to other versions? PSQL is at 9.4 and I have other dbases at 9.15 that I may want a copy of on the USB.

Can I update the Extensions on the USB like I update them on the desktop? I would eventually like to get to PostGIS 2.2

If I wanted to try updating the above on my own, do you have a guide?

Hi Chris,

You could potentially look at upgrading using something like pg_upgrade (http://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.1/static/pgupgrade.html) but I have never tried it, so take a copy before you do! Then you could try the PostGIS upgrade methods here http://www.postgis.org/docs/postgis_installation.html#upgrading as well. I don't have a guide for doing this because when I create a new version of portable GIS I start the database from scratch. I might give this a go myself so I can put out some guidelines for people wishing to upgrade.
