Dear All,

I started working on a new version of portable gis back in December, and I am proud to say that it's finally ready for release. I'm announcing it on this list first, in case my trusty beta testers and I have missed something crucial, and also to try and stagger the load on our downloads server.

So: please find the latest version here:
http://downloads.thehumanjourney.net/portablegis_setup_v2.exe

It's a 450MB download, and needs a USB stick of 2GB to install. You are warned that due to the heavy compression used to get the download down to a reasonable size it takes a VERY LONG time to install- I will continue working on this and release a new point release if I fix it.

With a new control panel, new versions of all the software, and some documentation (finally)

Please report back if you have any comments, questions or bug reports- I have tested it as thoroughly as I can but it's not my day job and I might have missed something!

Thanks

Jo
