Folks,
I have a generic design question. I am using PorPoise (slight modified) and Layar. I am building out a site that contains images that are of historic significance and have very well known geo-coords. Not a problem. The challenge is we want to be able to present this information to users who are not at the physical location. Not everyone who wants to look at this info will be in physical proximity. Thus, I want a mode where the POI request is generated at the location where the user is standing when the layer is brought up and all the POIs are relative to that location. This behavior would be similar to the Layars office demo. It would also be similar to the phone test mode in Layars. I know I can do this all programatically in PHP and play games with the DB but there must be a simple trick. Scouring the Layars API hasn't shown up any terms to fire a fixed location. Am I missing something. I would like to auto detect if the user is in actual location and if not switch modes automatically.
Someone must have bumped into this challenge before and has a simple design solution.
Hope you have a great day
Cheers, Steve
