ChintaBAR* is organizing a two  day documentary film  festival and panel  discussions in IIT Madras on  14th and 15th April 2014. The  documentaries screened will  help us discuss some of the  relevant social questions of  the day. There will be two  documentaries for each day  and a panel discussion  towards the end.

 

Day one (14th April 2014)

Time: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Venue: HSB 356*, IIT Madras

 

Documentary 1 - Food, Inc. ( 2008) Dir - Robert Kenner 

Documentary 2 - Nero’s Guests  - The Age of Inequality. ( 2009) Dir - Deepa Bhatia

Followed by a panel  discussion - Dr. Solomon Benjamin, IIT  Madras

Dr. Sujatha Byravan,  LEAD

Dr. Arvind Sivaramakrishnan,  Senior Deputy Editor, The  Hindu

 

Day two (15th April 2014)

Time: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Venue: HSB 356*, IIT Madras

 

Documentary 1 - Reel Bad  Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies  a People. (2006) - Dirs.  Jeremy Earp  and Sut Jhally 

Documentary 2 - Fabricated. ( 2013) Dir. K.P Sasi

Followed by a panel  discussion - Dr. Santhosh R, IIT Madras
