Marx Library and Chennai Book Fair 2015 - How you can contribute

Dear comrades and friends, 

As you all would know, the erstwhile Karl Marx Library that was conceived by comrades S.V.R and S.S. Kannan, and later maintained by Com.Kannan through the 80's, has now been re-inaugurated as the 'Marx Library', in Kannammapet, T.Nagar, Chennai. In continuation with the history of several progressive activists and intellectuals frequenting the library, it has since November 7 (November Revolution Day) resumed being a hub of readings and discussion meetings on Marxist philosophy, practice, alternative economic theory and contemporary political environment. Important books on Left thought, revolutionary history, Art and Literature form part of the library's already growing collections. 

At this point, in view of the ongoing Chennai Book Fair, we welcome all patrons and potential users of the Marx Library to contribute generously with newly introduced books and with funds for purchase of the same. The vast list of books launched this past year can help immensely in the expansion of our resources and toward the purpose of making it available to as wide a readership as possible. In a context where study materials are drastically coming under threat of forcible removal, existing archives would need all the collective efforts they can receive for their upkeep and present day relevance. 

Please write in with the choice of books (one to many) from this Book Fair that can become your contribution. For monetary contributions, again please write in expressing your interest, and we will share our account details with you.

தோழர்களே, நண்பர்களே,

சென்னையில் தோழர்கள் S.V.R மற்றும் S.S.கண்ணன் அவர்களால் தொடங்கப்பட்டு பின்னர் 80கள் முழுவதும் தோழர்.கண்ணனால் பராமரிக்கப்பட்டு வந்த "கார்ல் மார்க்ஸ் நூலகம்", ஆண்டுகள்  கடந்து மீண்டும் கண்ணம்மாபேட்டை, தி .நகரில் "மார்க்ஸ் நூலகம்" என்று திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதை நீங்கள் அறிந்திருப்பீர்கள். பல அரசியல் ஆர்வலர்களும் அறிவுஜீவிகளும் நூலகத்தை பயன் படுத்தி வந்த வரலாறின் தொடர்ச்சியாக,  நவம்பர் 7, 2014 (நவம்பர் புரட்சி தினம்) முதல், மார்க்சிய தத்துவம், செயல்முறை, மாற்று பொருளாதார கோட்பாடுகள் மற்றும் தற்கால அரசியல் சூழல் மீதான வாசிப்புகளுக்கும் கலந்தாலோசனை கூட்டங்களுக்கும் உகந்த இடமாக இயங்கி வருகிறது. இடதுசாரி சிந்தனை, புரட்சிகர வரலாறு, கலை-இலக்கியம் பற்றிய முக்கிய புத்தகங்கள் நூலகத்தின் வளர்ந்து வரும் பட்டியலில் அடக்கம். 

இந்தக்கட்டத்தில், சென்னை புத்தக கண்காட்சி நடந்து கொண்டிருக்க, அனைத்து ஆதரவாளர்களையும் நூலகத்தினால் பயன் அடையக்கூடிய அனைவரையும் புதிதாக அறிமுகமாகிய புத்தகங்கள் கொண்டும், புத்தகங்கள் வாங்குவதற்கான நிதிகள் கொண்டும் பங்களிக்க வரவேற்கிறோம். நூலகத்தின் வளங்கள் விரிவடைந்து அதிகமானவர்களுக்கு கொண்டுபோய் சேர்க்க உதவுவது மட்டுமல்லாமல், ஆய்வு வளங்கள் வேகமாக கட்டாய நீக்குதலுக்கு உள்ளாகி வரும்போது ஒன்றுபட்ட முயற்சிகளே நிகழ்கால தேவைக்கு உதவ முடியம். 

கண்காட்சியில் இருந்து உங்களுடைய பங்களிப்பிற்கான புத்தக தேர்வுடன் எங்களை தொடர்பு கொள்ளலாம். நிதி உதவிகளோடு  முன்வருபவர்களிடம் வங்கி கணக்கு விவரங்கள் பகிரப்படும் என்றும் தெரிவித்து கொள்கிறோம்.
