Hi Porchlight Friend! Have you heard about this radical storytelling craze?? Everyone's doing it! You should too! Open Door is the perfect opportunity to try your storytelling skills onstage in front of a live and lovely, kind and supportive roomful of people. Bring your five-minute story about that dear old friend you absolutely loathe, the time your most trusted co-worker got you fired and share your stories of all those weirdly conflicted relationships you continue to nurture! Give it a shot!
Porchlight Open Door is a small stage open mic event launched by Porchlight in September 2009. Storytellers add their names to a sign-up sheet, receive a free drink, and then have five minutes to spiel on the monthly theme. The evening's top storyteller, as chosen by a random audience member, receives $50 in cold, hard, United States greenbacks, a bag of hot nuts, and a pound of coffee from local roaster Nomadic Ground.
Storytelling has never been this potentially lucrative or fun!
