Is there anyone out here still using Sign Blazer??? I am in dire need of some assistance! Ive been using Sign Blazer for YEARS, I love it! Ive done hundreds of jobs with it. When I purchased a new cutter ( TC Plotter) from US Cutter they helped me to set it up and its worked beautifully. I have moved my cutter and my computer from one location to another and all of a sudden it wont communicate with my computer... I called US Cutter and was told we do not support this software and cant give you any help at all. I begged and pleaded to no avail. My plotter came with SCAL PRO3, I tried it didnt like it so didnt learn it... It will not read ANY of my EPS files. If anyone an help me I would be forever grateful!! US Cutter and I did establish that SCAL will indeed cut with my current set up so the problem is not the cutter, the computer, or any cords... its sign blazer! I sat here this morning and designed 6 different designs to cut this afternoon using sign blazer and cant cut any of them! please help
Thanks for the reply, I'm using XP, everything is connected via usb ports, would it make a difference if I plugged the plotter into a different usb port? When us cutter first set it up they had me using CoPamCP2500 plotter in the cutter set up with BLAZER LPT 1. Do I need to turn the plotter off everytime i switch the usb ports? I'm at a loss here
Thanks for the reply, in sign blazer when i click on cutter set up, the drop down menu lists of cutters does not list the TC, I guess thats why US Cutter had me use the CoPamCP2500, and I do not have any USB options, I have tried EVERY output device listed from Blazer LPT1, 2, 3, 4, Blazer COM 1, 2,3 and 4 I even tried the Blazer FILE and the Microsoft Document Imaging Writer....none have worked. I'm at a loss as to why it wont work in the first place, all I did was move it. Any other suggestions besides uninstalling it and reinstalling it? I know you said I wont lose all my files but I'm scared to death that I will LOL!
FYI- If you ever move again, you must use THE EXACT SAME USB PORT that you were using before, not just in the software, but the same HOLE in the computer too, otherwise you will have to start all over....yeah only one way to know that tidbit of information....SMH ( acouple of hours of MY life i'll never get back...
I am having real issues as well, my laptop crashed, so i have installed SB onto my win10 computer, i have USB socket at front of PC, when i check the USB port it says it is working correctly now these are USB 3. ports rather than USB 2. ports. but nothing seems to work, i have tried to connect it to every setting in SB but it will not cut.
Luckily for me, the replacement power lead has worked on the laptop so i am cutting again, but i want to make sure i am not in this situation again, trouble here is nothing supports XP anymore, so if i get new laptop, i will probably be in the same situation
I have been running on XP since 2006...It can be used with any software,,,I also have XP back up computers...Can be bought for under $100 free ship on Ebay...XP is very stable... Why would you need support? You don't even have to be online. to cut vinyl.but I am every day.. I am writing this on a Toshiba Laptop A105 with XP.that was new in 2006.( I replaced the screen and the keyboard myself) but it still works great.... I also cut with the same model, dedicated to my vinyl cutter... I have never had a problem since Microsoft quit the updates. And I would guess that average this computer has been on for 16 hours a day for the last 10 years. I think I got my moneys worth.
I tried to download onto another computer with the anti-virus turned off, now it says no files found. If this is a better version than what I posted, I'd like to have it,and I'm sure others would too.
THIS VERSION IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE USING A "TRIAL VERSION" WITH NAG SCREENS AT STARTUP. and if you want to get rid of the nag screens, yes 1st uninstall what you have, then download and install sbe 6, then install the update "sbeforsw_uk02mar07setup.exe, then run the patch.
HEUR/Crypted is a heuristic detection routine designed to detect common malware characteristics. Avira AntiVir recognizes unknown malware proactively using its AHeAD technology. To achieve this, Avira performs innovative structural analyzing.
On the basis of the composition of a file, the sequence of significant code sequences or based on particular behavior patterns, the heuristics can determine with a high probability whether it is dealing with a harmful or virulent file.
HEUR/Crypted in particular signals files that have a suspicious structure of the program. Usually such files are protected by encryption mechanisms and are often manipulated afterwards to hide the real functionality.
Please note that cracks or the cracked program files themselves as well as key generators are often modified with similar techniques. Therefore Avira AntiVir's AHeAD heuristics may detect such files as well. The user should keep in mind that trojans are often disguised as such software.
Hello all I just wanted to thank cutme, I downloaded sbe and ran the patch and the program works great with no nag screen. I am new to sign blazer and have a few questions ? I cant seem to use the registration marks,I click on them from the draw drop down and they do nothing also i saw some features in the tool bar that are cross hatched and it says they are not available in this version. Is there anyway to unlock all the features ? Thanks jeff g
Again, Device Manager, and what Port Windows has assigned to your cutter, since it sounds like you plug and unplug things on a regular basis. Then make sure the COM port number in SBE matches. Once you get it working, I'd recommend not unplugging your cutter from the laptop if you can help it.
The way my set up is I would unplug cutter from computer when not in use because it stretched across, didnt want anyone bumping something into cord to cause damage. But I only used the same port for cutter. I only plugged in other devices to see if port was working when error occurred. If I get this fixed, I'll be moving things around to keep cutter plugged in all the time.
Your showing Com #5 Properties in the 1st picture. (right side) You can only use com numbers 1-4. Com port numbers higher than 4 will not work. Your not showing what Com port number that is in your computer device manager. You must look at the computer device manager port number and then match the Signblazer to that com port number. If it is over # 4 then you must change it to a number between 1-4 Click properties and change it to a number between 1-4. Go to Signblazer and use the same number in set up.
In that last screen shot, we need to see what is selected in the Output Device drop down menu, that is where you select the connection point to the cutter. As they said above, change the port in your device manager to something under 4 then select it in the Output Device menu in SB.
I currently have an xp machine that is on its last legs. I really need a dependable computer to run this. I finally received the new prolific chipset plug and it ran great on a windows 8 system, so if forced to buy ten am hoping for success.
I have got sign blazer running on my windows 10 machine , and copied all my saved files from my win 7 machine , but everything works and cuts ok on the win 10, BUT It will not let me save any of my work ?? any ideas ?
Good morning, Those of us who are die-hard SignBlazer users (and Jerry Bonham certainly made a tremendous contribution in our lives with his program) are desperately trying to cling to that application.
Thank You SOOOOO much... I have 7 cutters and 7 computers the sign blazer is currently on.. so I am not in the desperate mode at the moment , but God forbid I should ever get there... lol I am planning ahead for a smooth transition as I realize it is forthcoming.... even 5 yrs down the line...
as far as SLICE. currently I use the Square feature in Sblazer and then use Signblazer white and weld to hold the middle of my lettering in such as P O R D B A Q and such ( making a stencil) and then WELD...I am sure it will do it just a matter of figuring it all out ...
Here's what I would do -- install INKSCAPE (opensource vector editor, similar to Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw) and there is a PATH editing function called "Difference" which will create your slices through lettering, and then you can copy-paste the result right into SignBlazer for cutting.
My daughter did the trial version and LOVES it.. she had it up and going in 15 min . she is the BRAIN around here... but found she did need the upgraded versions ... but seem to do fine...Still got to make the purchase but trial was enough to know if it was what she wanted to go with...
