NJ GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE JIM JOHNSON VISITS
P.O.P.!
On Thursday, May 4th, Montclair based gubernatorial
candidate Jim Johnson will speak at the general assembly meeting of the
People’s Organization for Progress.
Johnson, a Harvard educated lawyer, is
a highly respected former federal prosecutor and former assistant secretary at
the Department of the Treasury in the Clinton administration. He will share his
vision for the state and be asked to address the developing Black Agenda P.O.P.
has been spearheading.
This appearance was originally
scheduled for March 30th.
It will take place at Abyssinian
Baptist Church, 224 West Kinney St, Newark at 6:30pm…
JUSTICE MONDAY REACHES WEEK 67!
On Monday, May 8th, the People’s Organization for Progress (P.O.P.)
will host their 67th consecutive Justice Monday protest to demand federal
intervention into NJ’s four police brutality cases crying out for justice-The
cases of Abdul Kamal, Kashad Ashford, Jerome Reid and Radazz Hearns.
Participants will assemble at the
Federal Building, 970 Broad Street Newark at 4:30pm.
The Justice Monday protests began on February 1st, 2016 to mark
the anniversary of the launching of the epic ‘Sit-in Movement,’ the dramatic
civil disobedience campaign that marked the emergence of the student movement
wing of the Civil Rights Movement…
