Dear P.O.P. Members and Friends:
The People’s Organization for Progress works for racial, social, economic justice, and peace on an ongoing basis, and we do not receive any state, federal, or corporate monies. This is why we are writing and requesting that you support our forthcoming Annual Fundraiser on Sunday, July 21, 2019, 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Marlo’s Cocktail Lounge, 702 Lyons Avenue, Irvington, New Jersey.
We continue to work diligently on such fronts as jobs at a living wage, economic justice, an affordable college education, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Veterans Benefits, reparations, voter registration and education, political prisoners, and against home foreclosures, voters suppression, the privatization of public education, police brutality, all forms of violence, wars, mass incarceration, environmental racism, etc. Beginning in February 2016 we have added Justice Mondays which seek federal investigations into the deaths of Abdul Kamal, Kashad Ashord, Jerome Reid who were killed at the hands of law enforcement agents, and in the shooting of 14 year old Radazz Hearns. We are at our 177th consecutive Mondays as of 6.17.2019. In addition, we continue our voter registration and education on Saturdays.
To support all of our efforts, we ask you to purchase a ticket @ $ 20.00, and we encourage you to share this information with your family, friends, colleagues, and/or community members. Tickets can be obtained by coming to our Thursday Assembly Meeting or by calling/texting Ingrid Hill at 973-951-3369 Donations are also accepted.
Please support this fundraiser and those to follow with your attendance and/or your donation.
Sincerely,
Lawrence Hamm Angenetta Robinson
