Lexmark has a ScanBack utility that technicaly a pre-beta, as it can be used if you start the app by hand every time You want to scan, and about every 5th scan can be achived because the other attemts are connection failure, etc...
Lexmark printers are the same as Xerox, so Lexmark's ScanBack utility somewhat compatible with Xerox B315, but that software is joke... You have to run every time You want to scan to that PC, and about every second app start is able to receive a scan job... (Brother's is a background process and is always ready to receive a scan job).
An updated fix for the fault code 016-426 that is being seen on some of the VersaLink, PrimeLink, WorkCentre 6515 and Phaser 6510 printers has been released. A new utility, the Xerox Certificate Remediation Utility (XCRU), is now available to push the fix to the certificates in bulk to your fleet of affected printers.
The utility comes with a User Guide in the .ZIP file that will explain the prerequisites, how to install and use the utility, and the list of compatible products. Please read the user guide completely before using the utility. You will also need to check the firmware installed on your printer. Make sure it is compatible with the XCRU.
The utility should make it easier to install the fix on multiple printers. To find the utility follow this link or navigate to the support page for one of the models of your printers that is displaying the fault or needs the certificates updated. On the support page select the Drivers & Download tab and scroll down to Utilities & Applications. There you will find the XCRU, download the .ZIP file. Find the user guide in the language you prefer.
However, (1) although the device can be pinged from the Windows workstation, and (2) port 9100 is enabled on the connectivity page of the device's configuration, the firmware update utility is unable to locate the device on the network. The device's firmware can only be updated using a USB port.
We have several printers on firmware 65.31.81, trying to get them up to at least 65.59.11. I've tried the update utility 5.3.6.0, 5.3.6.19, and the more recent 5.3.7.2. Printers on that firmware always fail with a message "Failed to connect the device with the specified address" when updating via the network on port 9100.
Visioneer OneTouch is a utility that connects scanner buttons with pre-selected destinations (and/or applications) and allows you to scan into these destinations by simply pressing one button. Destinations can include your email,Word processor, printer or simply a file folder.
I too saw the notice that there was an importnat firmware update. It took me awhile to figure out how to do firmware updates, but finally I was able to use the firmware update utility to upgrade to the bridge version of 65.59.11 jsut fine. Then when I tried to to the upgrade to 65.69.51 using the network method the firmware utilty appeared to work. The progress bar made it to the far right and then nothing happened. The finish button never became active. I then tried the same utility with the USB connection. At least this showed the 100% number on the completion level, but still the finish button did not become active and the printer display kept showing that the printer was being updated. After a long time I restarted the printer and it printed a shee saying that the update failed. Is there a solution to this firmware uprade dilemna?
Confirm the same results with 8hrs effort to update using VersaLink firmware Install Utility v5.3.6.19. The only firmware I could find was from the WorkCentre 6515 Service Pack (PL7-R9) this is an encrypted *.BIN file and requires v65.59.11 or higher. Questioned update utility so selected a downgrade firmware that was unencryped which is the Bridge version Xerox recommends v65.59.11 and that installed fine so the utility works. Immediately after down grade after waiting for printer to finish processing the firmware update and printing its Upgrade Report and Startup Page I tried installation of the service pack Bin file (656951_WC6515_E.bin).
I am unable to upgrade the firmware on a WorkCentre 6151DN from 65.66.91 to 65.69.51. Using the Windows Firmware Upgrade Utility, with an ethernet cable connected between the printer and router, the firmware appears to transfer fully, but does not let me click on the next button. After 10 minutes or so the utility states "fail to check updating. Please check the device" then "unknown to update". With a USB cable connected between printer and PC, the firmware does not appear to even transfer. I have changed the setting in the printer to make Ethernet the primary conncection and disabled wi-fi, then tried again but that didn't work.
Techted tells me via PM that when he downloads the 65.69.51 FW his compressed file download is 259MB whereas when I download it just now, it is 399MB. So I have put it up on my dropbox account if anybody wants to try it. Obviously I am an untrustworthy source so scan for virii and use at your own risk. This not the file I downloaded on 3rd November which I seem to recall having a date of 3rd November in the FW upgrade utility. Unfortunately, I deleted that file. The file date in the dropbox link as reported in the FW upgrade utility is 7th September. My printer is 6515DN, my OS is windows 10 x64. I will be deleting the link tomorrow.
I downloaded the 65.69.51 firmware again to check the date given in the Versalink Firmware Utility, both from the link given in Xerox's website support page and from CathyO-Xerox's link. Both seem to point to the same link, although hers is for Windows 11 and I downloaded from the Xerox's support page for Windows 10, which is what I use. It would give more confidence that one is getting the revised firmware if Xerox were to change the release date of the firmware on the support page from 22/09/15 to the release date of the revised firmware. File sizes for each file I downloaded are the same: 407,716 KB. The firmware upgrade utility says the date for each firmware .bin file is 2022/9/7 06:00:24. In windows the date modified is 2022/09/07 7:00, size on disk 417,501,184 bytes. I seem to remember when I was upgrading to 65.69.51 on 2022/11/3 that the date in the firmware upgrade utility was different and that it was 2022/11/3 although I cannot confirm that unfortunately as I did not keep the .bin fiirmware file.
I successfully upgraded my 6515DN to 65.69.51 (from 65.66.91) using the Versalink Firmware Upgrade Utility over wifi. When the transfer progress indicator in the utility reached 100%, it stated that the firmware had been stored successfully. The printer then turned off. I turned it back on and the printer displayed a progress indicator. When it reached 100% it turned itself off then back on several times. When the control panel eventually came back up, it printed a software upgrade report stating the software had been successfully upgraded to 65.69.51.
Advanced file managers for MS-DOS were able to redefine character shapes with EGA and better display adapters, giving some basic low resolution icons and graphical interface elements, including an arrow (instead of a coloured cell block) for the mouse pointer. When the display adapter lacks the ability to change the character's shapes, they default to the CP437 character set found in the adapter's ROM. Some popular utility suites for MS-DOS, as Norton Utilities (pictured) and PC Tools used these techniques as well.
"We've seen firsthand how this service drives operational efficiency and accelerates information workflows," Feldman said. "A global utility company partnered with Xerox to digitize their accounts payable invoices, which decreased invoice processing costs by 50 percent and reduced handling time from more than two weeks to one day."
