The Google Chrome browser comes with built-in PDF viewer functionality that enables you to open and access PDFs easily. You can amplify your ability to work with PDFs by using the Adobe Acrobat extension for Google Chrome. The Acrobat extension gives you additional features, including file conversion, and saves hard drive space by allowing you to access documents from anywhere via your browser.

The Acrobat extension for Chrome makes reading and accessing documents from a web browser easier and more efficient. It also offers additional features and benefits that are above and beyond the native viewer to make it a powerful accessory.

The Acrobat extension for Google Chrome will give you much more versatility when working with PDFs in your browser, but Chrome has its own PDF viewer built-in to the browser as a default. If you need to make adjustments to how you open PDFs with Chrome, refer to these instructions:

You might also want to disable the native viewer to opt into a more full-featured version of PDF software that the Chrome PDF viewer would block. In that case, downloading PDFs directly to your device, rather than opening them in a browser first, allows you to work with them directly in Acrobat, accessing all of its many features.

Hi: I used to be able to view pdf files in Chrome's native pdf viewer. Suddenly, I am no longer able to view files through Chrome's viewer, but only through what looks to be some new dropbox proprietary viewer. I'd like to be able to go back to the Chrome viewer, as the dropbox viewer has cut pdf functionality significantly.

I finally found a solution that might not be ideal for everyone, but actually solves the problems listed above . . . I've been having issues using the Dropbox viewer to view my pdfs, have not been able to view any larger pdfs, and one other poster mentioned that he was having some difficulty sharing his pdfs with others.

I've been asking for a fix that would allow us to completely bypass the Dropbox viewer so that we can view our pdfs in Chrome's native viewer. Some of the techs were lovely and brilliant enough to come up with the fix that involves "printing" the pdf (and then canceling out of the print dialog box), which allows you to then see the pdf in Chrome viewer. Unfortunately, though, this did not solve the issue of not being able to open larger pdfs - if the pdf couldn't be open in Dropbox viewer, then trying to "print" the pdf does not work, and you also will not be able to view the pdf in Chrome.

The one solution that I have been using that satisfies all the above issues is to abandon Dropbox and use Google Drive to store and share my pdfs. I've been able to open and view ALL pdfs in Google Drive (even 6,000 page legal tomes!!!) without any issue, and GD also allows us to connect all sorts of third party apps so that we can view our pdfs in the third-party viewer of our choosing. I've also had a much easier time sharing these pdfs with my colleagues on GD . . . Dropbox sharing was easy so long as the receiving party also had a Dropbox account.

I am customer for years, could you guys please just give us the ability to open pdf with the native chrome viewer? Dropbox PDF viewer is much worst and limited, while you guys don't have a PDF viewer as good as chrome, for example, dont obligate your paying customers to use this. It is like we are paying Dropbox to make the service worst everyday, dont "fix" what wasn't broken to begin with.

Since it was a little confusing, I'll re-describe the original problem . . . Prior to March 15, 2017, I was able to open pdf files in chrome's pdf viewer, as well as open documents by pressing Ctrl+[file]. (This was when I accessed my dropbox account through the chrome browser). Suddenly, I lost that functionality, was only able to open files one by one, and only in dropbox's proprietary viewer. This limited functionality of my dropbox account, since I could no longer open several files at once (without great effort). Additionally, the dropbox viewer DOES NOT open pdf files larger than 50mb (I've been able to open pdf files up to 200 mb in chrome's viewer without issue). Now, somehow, my dropbox functionality has fully returned.

What about if my students are accessing it from a public link remotely? How can they get it to force open on chrome? Any ideas? I am a teacher and I am sharing a PDF file that I make for their assignments. The file always has worked fine and opened. Now the hyperlinks on my PDF are not working with Dropbox's new priortity view.

The pdf viewer provided by Dropbox is NOT a welcome replacement, it is not as fast and efficient as the Chrome native viewer, and it is difficult to share with others. Please fix or find a way to allow users to switch back and forth between dropbox viewer and the native viewer!

Some time ago my Chrome started to open PDFs in Google Docs viewer. I don't really know if I did something to force this behaviour, but I would like to view it as I was before (using Foxit Reader plugin).

To disable Chrome from automatically using the Google Reader, go to "chrome://plugins/". Then locate and disable the plugin called "Chrome PDF Viewer". When this was installed, it should have automatically disabled your previous reader, (mine happend to be Adobe Acrobat, but this should work anyway). Then find your Foxit Reader Plugin entry, and re-enable that. Should work as soon as you load a PDF. You might want to restart Chrome to make sure, but for me it worked simply with a new tab.

If you are using Chrome as your browser, click on the Toolbar (wrench) in the upper-right corner, click "Tools," click "Extensions," and you should see the "Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer (by Google)" extension. If you do not find the "Extensions" in the menu, type chrome://chrome/extensions/ to the address bar.

To disable the viewer, simply click on the "Options" link. This will give you the option to check or uncheck the type of file you want Reader to handle (e.g., doc, docx, pdf, pps, tif, tiff). You can also type in domains (e.g., sites.google.com) that you want exempted from the viewer tool.

Answer: No. The "View" button under Gmail file attachment uses Google Docs viewer. This is because the "View" button was specifically programmed by Google to use Google Docs viewer. (You can see how this would help promote Google Docs as a product). As of now there is no way to change this behavior. If it could be changed, it would be changed at the Gmail settings level which would say something like "Change default behavior of file attachment View button".

In the dashboard we already expose a personalisation property of the webpart containing the report path which allows us to load what ever report we require. We also expose a new property to store the hieght of the report in the personalisation framework and this in turn sets the height of the report viewer as required by the user.

I experienced the same problem: a blank body. Only the toolbar was visible. Using browser developer tools, I was able to find out that if I put an height of 1000px on the div that contained the report viewer, the content would be become visible.

I used to be able to save the PDF and it would automatically open in Skim (once I selected automatically open). Or I could save it and click the icon at the bottom. Now you have to manually download and then select "open in system viewer".

It appears that someone may have finally figured out how to replicate the original behavior you have been hoping for. By disabling the embedded PDF viewer plugin (bear with me), and then adding PDF.JS, you will have the option of opening a PDF inside Chrome, ium or with the external viewer. The behavior sounds as though it will follow the original behavior:

Another option is to use your system viewer in Chrome. If you install the PDF XChange viewer plugin in chrome and disable the default chrome pdf viewer, you will be able to use your viewer normally in chrome.

Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of the PDF viewer, then choose Two page view. Select the Fit to page icon at the top to view both pages side by side.

Whilst waiting for the ability to annotate in the Paperpile viewer to come online, I would like to use PDF Pen from Paperpile if possible. So that I can click on view pdf and go into an app that allows and shows annotations.

I am not sure what happened, but after I upgraded to MAC OS El Capitan, Google Drive offers the option to open the document in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. It seems to work offline and opens the original file in Google Drive, saving the changes there. Highlights are also recognised by MetaPDF, which is great. I wonder if this feature request could then be modified to suggest that the user has the option to set the default PDF viewer to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, as I imagine the option for MetaPDF will appear. As it is, I think I like the simplicity of MetaPDF better but I need to use them both more to be sure.

Scene Viewer is an immersive viewer that enables 3D and AR experiences from yourwebsite or Android app. It lets users of Android mobile devices easily preview, place, view, and interact with web-hosted 3D models in their environment.

The intent version is indicated by the version number afterarvr.google.com/scene-viewer. For example, the initial release usedversion 1.0. When newer Scene Viewer features are required, youmay launch Scene Viewer with a higher intent version corresponding with thefeatures you require.

Intent version 1.1 added support for intent:// links, which can launchdirectly into an Android app rather than to a URL. If you would like SceneViewer to guarantee that this functionality is available when launched, and failto launch otherwise, launch scene viewer with an intent tointent://arvr.google.com/scene-viewer/1.1.

To ensure that AR is available in Scene Viewer, you can use an explicit Androidintentfrom a website or native Android app to launch Scene Viewer via thecom.google.ar.core package and provide a browser_fallback_url. This way, youcan ensure that all users either have a native AR experience via Scene Viewer ora fallback experience that you have built yourself. For example, you might buildfallback experiences such as your own 3D viewer or a graceful error message.
