Hi, Welcome to PoPInn,

PoPInn stands for Programmers of Palakkad Home. Aim is to know more
about the brave programming minds of Kerala, a southern most state in
India. PoPInn will try to recognize and bring out the best of the
talents.

We are working hard to realize a few of our immediate goals, like:
1. Create and host a public website for this group.

2. Publish the articles and programming solutions of the members of the
group, by giving due credit to them.

3. Conduct programming contests, tests and quizzes.

Thanks for dropping in. Feel free to write your comments / suggestions
to us, after becoming a member of this group. Although we are
developing the group for the programmers of Palakkad / Kerala,
suggestions from any part of the world are welcome.

Best Regards

Hi Santosh,

But this doesn't state anything about the Open Source.
I believe knowledge is no one's property and will improve if shared.

Hi Sunil,
Apologies for a delayed reply. Was not well and was out of office for a
couple of days. A formal welcome to the group.

Regarding your query, jus want to make a few clarifications.
As you said the main aim of the group is to form an open platform for
the excahnge of ideas between nurturing programming minds. We also
think interms of sharing knowledge from programmer to programmer. But
this sharing is not advocated in the fashion of open source freedom.
The freedom which allows any body to put hands into the idea of any one
else and there by making a non-proprietary and in-disipline way of
software development.

We at PoPInn doesn't aim to commercialise or make any monetary benefits
by selling any programmers ideas. What we have in mind is an
infrastructure where any body can contribute but the contribution
should follow a strict discipline and ruleset, where the necessary
credit will be given to the deserving programmer. Once again I
ascertain that PoPInn will be a .ORG establishment, will work for the
benefit of the individual programmer, but will not favour the open
source software development. Means, will not allow anybody to simply
remove the programming effort taken by any valid member of PoPInn.

Thankyou very much for you query and Interest.

Once Again Welcoming LikeMinds
