On behalf of the Office of the National Coordinator, and Health 2.0, the popHealth team is pleased to announce the “popHealth Tool Development Challenge” is now open!
The first place prize will be a cash award of $75,000 and 2 free passes to the Health 2.0 spring conference and 2 free passes to the conference where the winning submission is demoed. Second place prize will be a cash award of $20,000, and third place will be an award of $5,000.
To participate, developers will need to create software extensions that leverage the popHealth open source framework, existing functionality, data standards, or sample datasets to improve patient care and provide greater insight into patient populations. The submission deadline ends February 3, 2012, with awards being announced on February 20th, 2012.
