Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to use DIY ABC for analysing and checking models for my mater's dissertation.

My data consist of human mtDNA HVS-I (part of the control region) sequences (616 samples) each one containing 312bp. I tried to set the input file in the genepop format, however, the DIY ABC rejects it, saying something is incorrect (and when I fix the error, another one pop up).

Does anyone know the correct format for this type of marker?

I formatted in this way:

First line: heading + sex ratio = title <NM=1.0NF>
second line: SEQ <M>
third line: POP
fourth line and so on: samplename + comma + tab + [<ACCACCCAAG.......>]
until the next POP

It looked like this:

HVS I in human population <NM=1.0NF>
SEQ <M>
POP
Samplename,             [<ACCACCCAAG........................>]
"
"
"
POP
Samplename,             [<GCCACCCAG..........................>]

Anyone can help me with the correct format?

Thanks in advance,
Gustavo

Hi,

I'm afraid I don't know how to use DIY ABC. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

Best,
Joao
