This is in part a note to remind all of you who have not yet completed an Ally Orientation that we will hold an orientation this coming Monday, January 26th, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the South Central Community Action Program small conference room. Another option to meet your Ally Orientation requirement is to attend the session on Tuesday, February 3rd, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., also in the SCCAP conference room. Please RSVP via e-mail or phone regarding which orientation you will attend. If you can attend neither, we will offer another opportunity before Circle Leader/Ally matches are made.
A second purpose for this note is to ask those of you who have not yet attended the required Bridges Out of Poverty training whether Saturday, February 7th will work for you. This would be an all-day training, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If possible, I’d like to find a day that all Allies who are untrained in Bridges can attend. If you haven’t yet attended a Bridges training, please let me know one way or another if February 7th will work for you. When I have feedback, I’ll either offer you another possibility if that date doesn’t work for everyone, or will e-mail you to officially set that as the training date. Please let me know as soon as possible.
Finally, a reminder about other important upcoming events:
January 29th, 6:00 – 8:30, St. Mark’s: Circle Leader “dress rehearsal” Community Assessment Presentation, for the people Circle Leaders feel more comfortable with – Allies and the Guiding Coalition. Join us for dinner and the presentation!
February 5th, 6:00 – 8:30, St. Mark’s: Weekly Circles™ Community Meeting – join us for dinner, new and goods, and announcements; after that, Circle Leaders will work on “tweaking” their Community Assessment Presentation.
February 12th, 6:00 – 8:30, St. Mark’s: Public Presentation of Community Assessment by Circle Leaders. Media and politicians will be invited, and we encourage all Guiding Coalition Members and Allies to also join us for dinner and the presentation.
February 19th and February 26th, 6:00 – 8:30, St. Mark’s: Weekly Circles™ Community Meetings – dinner, new and goods, announcements, “getting-to-know-you” activities, appreciations. It is important for you to attend these sessions if at all possible! We hope to match Circle Leaders and Allies soon after this, though we might do another week or two of “getting-to-know-you” activities if this seems necessary.
Remember, the more events you attend at this stage, the more quickly you will get to know Circle Leaders, form community, and become matched.
