to PoolChem Beta Testers

Thanks for helping test PoolChem Tracker!

We have a new version ready (v1.18.0). Same steps as before — just remember to use the same Google account for everything.

PoolChem Tracker is an Android app that helps pool owners track water chemistry, log test results, calculate chemical dosing, view maintenance history, and receive testing reminders.

⚠️ Important You MUST use the same Google account for ALL steps below:

  • Joining the Google Group
  • Opting into the beta
  • Using the Google Play Store on your phone Using different accounts will cause the "App not available" error.

🚀 How to Get the Update

🔹 For NEW Testers:

  1. Join the beta testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/poolchem-beta-testers
  2. WAIT 5–10 minutes after joining (this is required for Google Play to sync your access).
  3. Opt in to the beta: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.poolchemtracker.app (Tap "Become a Tester" on that page)
  4. Download the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poolchemtracker.app

🔹 For RETURNING Testers:

If you are already in the Google Group and previously opted in, you don't need to do it again! Just click the link below to update to v1.18.0 directly in the Play Store: 👉 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poolchemtracker.app

🛠 If you see "App not available":

Try these fixes in order:

  1. Make sure your Play Store app is switched to the exact same account you used to join the group.
  2. Wait 10–15 minutes and try again (Google's servers can be slow to sync).
  3. Force close and reopen the Play Store app.
  4. Clear Play Store cache (Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage → Clear Cache).
  5. If all else fails, reply here with a screenshot of the error message and we'll get it sorted!

📌 A Quick Request (14-Day Rule)

Please keep the app installed and open it occasionally for at least 14 days. Google strictly requires a minimum of 20 testers to be actively opted-in for 14 consecutive days before they will allow the app to be released to the public. Your active participation is what gets us across the finish line!

💬 Feedback

If you encounter bugs, calculation issues, confusing screens, or missing features, please reply in this group or contact me directly.
