I've been using Pony with smtp of gmail for a long time. A year ago or so it broke because of google adding some security thing. The solution was to change gmail settings to "Allow access of less secure applications". After that it was working again. This time it's broken again, but I'm not sure why.

When I try to send an e-mail, google is saying "someone tried to access my account, was prevented etc.".

I know this is not exactly Pony's responsibility, but I thought you may know something about this. I haven't found any information on this in other threads last couple of years.

Thanks in advance

Andre,

Are you using TLS to send the email? Do you have 2-factor auth setup?
Have you tried using an application-specific password?

Thanks
