A HUD, or Heads-Up Display, is a transparent display that presents information without requiring users to look away from their usual viewpoints. It is typically used in aircraft, cars, and other vehicles to display important information such as speed, altitude, and navigation directions.
A virtual image at infinity is an image that appears to be located at an infinite distance from the observer. This is often used in HUDs to give the illusion of information being displayed in the distance, making it easier for the user to view and process the information without shifting their focus.
A HUD uses a special optical system to project the image onto a small, transparent screen or glass panel that is positioned in front of the user's line of sight. This screen acts as a combiner, reflecting the image from a display onto a mirror, which then reflects it into the user's eye, creating the illusion of a virtual image at infinity.
Using a HUD with a virtual image at infinity allows for important information to be displayed in the user's line of sight, without causing them to shift their focus away from their primary task. This can improve safety, efficiency, and convenience in various applications such as driving or flying.
One limitation of using a HUD with a virtual image at infinity is that the image may not be as bright or clear as a physical display, especially in bright lighting conditions. Additionally, the size of the display may be limited, making it difficult to display large amounts of information. Careful design and calibration are necessary to ensure optimal viewing for the user.
In addition to its future use for the hundreds of Walt Disney Company television productions each year, the Infinity on Stage 1 is also available for rental to other studios and production entities. The facility will also be used as a training platform for production craftspeople to learn more about the possibilities unleashed by virtual production technology.

The primary advantage of an Infinity Green Screen is its ability to create a seamless and immersive background. By eliminating any visible edges or boundaries, content creators can transport viewers into a virtual world without distractions. This creates a more authentic and captivating VR experience.
Achieving consistent lighting and shadows is crucial for a realistic VR experience. Infinity Green Screens help maintain uniform lighting conditions across the entire recording space, preventing discrepancies that could break the illusion of the virtual environment. This ensures that virtual elements seamlessly integrate with the live-action elements of the video.
Traditional set design for video production can be time-consuming and expensive. Infinity Green Screens eliminate the need for physical sets, props, and costumes, streamlining the production process. This not only saves time but also reduces costs, making VR content creation more accessible to a broader range of creators.
The green screen serves as a perfect backdrop for post-production editing. Content creators can effortlessly replace the green background with virtual environments or add special effects during the editing process. This simplifies the workflow and allows for fine-tuning to achieve the desired visual impact.
The use of an Infinity Green Screen in recording video content for virtual reality opens up a realm of possibilities for content creators. From creating seamless and immersive environments to enhancing creativity and flexibility, the benefits are undeniable. As VR technology continues to evolve, integrating tools like the Infinity Green Screen will be essential for delivering unparalleled and captivating virtual experiences. Embrace the future of content creation with the limitless possibilities offered by Infinity Green Screens.

InfinitySet includes several internal chroma keyers, including UE keyer and a newly developed differential chroma keyer. This new keyer renders the chroma set based on real footage and stores this information to create a pixel-by-pixel difference key with the footage of the talent, easily discriminating fine details such as hair, transparency and shadows. This keyer, along with the internal color correction, allows for seamless talent integration as AR objects within the XR set.
By using the new CAVE Crosspoints, InfinitySet can create XR content in non-flat LED walls, including corners (with or without floor), curved or even more complex U-shaped walls with floor. These offers different workflow models to ensure best fit for any project, regardless of its complexity. InfintiySet features a LED Layout Interface to ensure the dimensions and shape of the LED wall where the content will be displayed so the content is correctly displayed with the perspective of the tracked camera.
Stack is a functionality of the Layers feature that allows to compose a single output by combining different renders. The canvas where the stack is composed can be of any size (depending on the hardware and outputs) and aspect ratio. This means that users can compose any type of output regardless its aspect ratio, allowing for filling in large LED walls, real or virtual, with a Stacked Layer output, even with multiple Aston stacked layers.
Layers allow for creating simultaneous multiple renders using a single workstation. Using Layers, InfinitySet can now deliver several video outputs from a single instance or combine several crosspoints in a single video output (stack).
The Combined Render Engine has been the best and most transparent solution to include statistics, charts, text and other broadcast graphics within UE generated content. InfinitySet goes one step beyond, being able to send Aston projects directly to UE as textures, including its StormLogic, or alternatively using an Aston as a layer over UE.
InfinitySet fully supports PBR shaders as materials and can also be imported from external shader editing software. In addition, InfinitySet can render HDR in floating 16 bit per channel/component, supporting for P2020 gamma correction output.
InfinitySet takes full advantage of the latest hardware developments found in NVIDIA RTX GPU technology. By using NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPUs, InfinitySet can deliver real-time ray tracing, which provides a much more accurate rendering, especially with complex light conditions.
TeleTransporter seamlessly combines virtual sets with live or pre-recorded video feeds of the presenters and 3D objects from remote locations, all moving accordingly with precise perspective matching. TeleTransporter allows a remote talent to enter any scenario at any time, while seamlessly mixing real and virtual elements.
Converts the live feed of the talent into a true 3D representation of the talent from a video feed. The presenter becomes an actual 3D object embedded within the virtual set, casting real shadows and reflections of the talent over virtual and real objects and interacting with volumetric lights.
Set space restrictions are no longer a problem. Regardless the camera used is fixed, manned, tracked or robotized, InfinitySet can seamlessly detach the camera feed while maintaining the correct position and perspective of the talent within the virtual scene.
InfinitySet InfinitySet can remotely control and adjust in real-time external light panels via DMX, and external Chroma Keyer settings, allowing for changing the lighting conditions of the real set to match those of the virtual set.
These data driven objects allow for visually engaging representations of the data which can be better explained by the presenters. During election nights, news, sports or entertainment programs, data bars and other statistics can interact with the talents creating an attractive augmented reality environment for the audience.
Broadcast graphics have specific requirements that are far beyond from what a Game Engine can do. They sit in broadcast workflows that require external database connections, statistics, tickers, social media, lower-thirds, such a variety of graphics that are alien to the Game Engine framework but are essential for broadcast operation.
Brainstorm is a specialist company dedicated to providing industry-leading real-time 3D graphics and virtual set solutions for broadcast, feature film production and corporate presentations since 1993.
