The French standard NF203 allows publishers to certify the quality and conformity of their software in an indisputable and impartial manner. NF203 certification covers all functional areas of computerized accounting (purchasing, sales, inventory, fixed assets, and accounting) and digital safes (NF203 CCFN). Software with NF203 certification gives you peace of mind if you undergo a tax audit of your computerized accounting. It also provides a competitive advantage when you bid for contracts.

NF203 is based on the standard NF Z42-020 for digital safes. The digital-safe component of the NF Z42-020 standard confirms the integrity and traceability of the digital objects that are stored there. It also offers special possibilities in terms of confidentiality with the encryption of the stored data and documents. The digital safe complements an electronic archiving system.

StorageGRID supports the Simple Storage Service (S3) and Swift protocols. Combined with its powerful information lifecycle management (ILM) policy engine, StorageGRID gives your data industry-leading durability and availability. And with its NF203 certification, you can use StorageGRID with archiving environments that are specifically for computerized accounting. Although NF203 is a French standard, this certification attests to comply with similar international standards.

ISO/IEC 25051 compliance proves that StorageGRID is being developed, tested, and validated according to strict quality requirements. Even with the base deployment, no additional hardware, software, or license is required. You can start using StorageGRID object storage at any time to process and to store archived or electronic accounting data.

StorageGRID has also earned Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation certification (with Evaluation Assurance Level EAL2+), confirming that the software meets the strict security requirements for government use. For details, read the blog post.

It does not deal with the production realization (including activities and intermediate products, e.g. specifications). The quality system of a supplier is outside the scope of ISO/IEC 25051:2014.

ISO/IEC 25051:2005 defines quality requirements for COTS software products. A COTS software product includes the product description, the user documentation, and the software contained on a computer sensible media. The quality requirements, functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and quality in use are consistent with the definitions of SQuaRE.

In addition to the quality requirements, ISO/IEC 25051:2005 also defines requirements for test documentation. The test documentation purpose is to demonstrate the conformity of the software with the requirements. The documentation contains a test plan, the description of the tests cases, and the tests results.

INFOCERT is a French government-approved provider specializing in software certifica-tion and ensuring the development of various standards. The certification was finally approved by the official French standardization institution Association franaise de normalisation (AFNOR).

It is a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the European Committee for Standardization and therefore involved in developing the international standard ISO/IEC 25051:2014.

After an extensive audit, the accredited certifying body INFOCERT has renewed the certification of NetApp StorageGRID to the French accounting standard NF Logiciel (NF203). This renewal includes certification to the international standard for how products are developed, tested, and validated, ISO/IEC 25051.

Since January 2018, the French Tax Administration has required that all companies using accounting management software comply with the French standard, NF203. NF203 certification covers the security of all functional areas of computerized accounting, including purchasing, sales, inventory, and fixed assets, as well as digital safes (NF203 CCFN). Companies are certified by INFOCERT, which is authorized by the certifying body, Association Franaise de Normalisation (AFNOR).

Initially, INFOCERT awarded NF203 certification for StorageGRID 11.5. To renew it, StorageGRID passed an extensive product audit by INFOCERT, which confirmed that the new features also comply with the industry standard, and are thus compatible with French accounting requirements. Compliance includes authentication that StorageGRID was developed, tested, and validated according to the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC 25051:2014 and ISO 9001:2015.

With the NF203 certification of StorageGRID, customers can use its object storage to process and store archived or electronic accounting data and archiving environments that are specifically for computerized accounting. They can do this with confidence that StorageGRID provides industry-leading durability, reliability, and availability of data and will perform as certified.

PRESCOM implements an ISO/IEC 25051 quality process that sets out the quality requirements applicable to software packages. A software package comprises the description of the product, the user documentation and the software on an electronic support. In addition to quality requirements, ISO/IEC 25051 also stipulates the requirements for test documentation.
