Fwd: Doing a talk on indoor/outdoor gardening 5/5/11

This date has caught up with me quickly, and I know there is interest. I am doing a talk Thursday May 5th at First Parish Framingham, starting at 6:30. (tomorrow)

 I am going to talk about year round gardening, both indoors and outdoors. I've attached a picture of the indoor garden in January – showing spinach and Swiss Chard.

I am in the middle of  planting a vegetable garden for the forth year.  Technically I haven't stopped growing vegetables  since the spring of 2010, and don't plan to stop.  During the winter, my garden included vegetables like lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, and argulia.  I grew enough swiss chard to feed a family gathering with leftovers.

I will cover his approach to indoor and outdoor urban farming for the 21t century, and how to leverage the latest technologies and off-the shelf hardware to work a garden year round.  Growing a vegetable  garden can save money, energy, allow you to eat healthier and reduce the carbon footprint of yourself and your household.
