SecondlyDeep Freeze works (in part) through a low-level kernel driver for your hard disk and SATA/IDE bus. There is also a service that runs, and you can disable that service (don't: it will break your system). But you can't just remove a kernel driver by changing a few registry keys. You also need to make sure you have an equivalent kernel driver to handle the disk requests (normally now, rather using the frozen method).

The normal way to uninstall Deep Freeze is to re-run the installation program. If you can't do this, you can still boot from a different location like a CD or DVD and re-install your operating system. Most frozen computers will also disable booting from anywhere but the frozen hard disk in the BIOS, and then lock the BIOS to prevent changes. This means you may also need to hard-reset your BIOS.

It's all software in the end, so I suppose there must be a way to do this on a thawed computer without re-installing the operating system - but it's more than just changing the registry. You've got to alter some files (probably using VolumeShadowCopy) that are used by Windows itself.

I've heard, but not personally confirmed, that the way Deep Freeze enforces trial mode vs regular mode is through the system date. Standard mode will update it's trial expiration every time the computer starts. If you update the system time to 61 days in the future, you can force the machine to boot thawed.

Try this: First have another unit to install Deep Freeze and do not put any password. Then, boot thaw that unit. Copy the file at the root, c:\ "Persi0.*" (something like this). Paste it to the root of the drive that you want to unfreeze, voil! That machine will be unfreezed. You can now uninstall Deep Freeze after booting.

Try To Run Deepfreeze Installer again, it should then say you need to uninstall your current deepfreeze, proceed to uninstallation. A computer restart would be prompted afterwards which you should do.

1. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.

2. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

osx lion 10.7.3, no help from deep freeze tech support, u think a clean install of mountain lion from a bootable disk would work? ive tried to update to mountain lion but everytime i restart my computer it goes back to the previous default settings (deep freeze doing what is supposed to do)

I believe that if you re-partition and erase the drive first, then install Mountain Lion that would rid the computer of the Faronics software. But I don't know this from experience. I've tried the Faronics product but never had your issue.

3. When your pc completes rebooting you should see an X sign on deep freeze icon on system tray and that indicates that deep freeze is disabled, then you should have the installation file of deep freeze DFStd.exe file that you got when you first download deep freeze if not you can download from here, click on it and click on Uninstall and then your pc will restart and you will not have deep freeze installed anymore.

1. Restart your computer and then click BIOS setup button often that key is something like F2, F10 or DEL and there change the time in BIOS for about 10 years ahead or behind the current one, deep freeze will think that the machine is not running anymore.

3. When the windows logo appears rappidly press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open task manager before the windows start up so it means immediatly after the welcome screen dissappears and then click on Task Manager.

I had heard that they currently don't have a working version for Mojave. I know they had trouble with AFPS. Article. In this statement they recommend removing deep freeze before upgrading because of issues related to AFPS.

As you can see if you call binary, you can also set password, uninstall, set thawspace and more. What does not seem to be included as of now is the scheduling part, but you can easily let JAMF do that for you by simply script it to unfreeze.

We are running into a similar issue here. New Deepfreeze on Mojave does not work the same way. We use ARD to globally freeze and thaw, but that is no longer an option. I have a ticket open with Faronics. Could anyone help with respect to scripting "boot thaw" and "boot frozen" ?

Just throwing this out there...can you get away from using Deepfreeze? When I took over Mac support I found Deepfreeze to be more trouble than it's worth(and we got it pretty cheap). I moved our DeepFreeze labs to being cleaned by a script on log out and the accounts were changed from being admin to standard users. More or less I feel it's much more in line with what Apple supports and it works well.

Even on the Windows side there were guys who swore up and down by Deepfreeze and due to issues with it there they started using scripts to do the same thing and are now questioning if it's worth the hassle to go back to it.

The "cannot communicate with Daemon" issue is not due to how the Program is packed, but how the client is receiving the package. I don't think JAMF is actually perfectly mirroring a normal install - In this case, it's just dropping the files, and not initializing the Daemon. The system is looking for a plist daemon for Deepfreeze that isn't running!

All we need to do to fix this is get launchd to see the daemon an initialize it. Since this happens on reboot, I just included a reboot postscript to run when the package installs (DF is the last step in my imaging workflow).

I have also been successful in deploying DeepFreeze to Mojave. Performed the install, started DF (without rebooting), enabled passwords, created user, set drive to freeze, set restart to thawed but again, did not reboot, and then created the package. In policy I just set it to reboot after install.

Learn how to safely uninstall a cracked version of Deep Freeze Standard with this comprehensive guide, featuring step-by-step instructions and highlighting key considerations for a smooth removal process.

When facing the unexpected presence of an unauthorized iteration of a renowned system safeguarding tool, one might find themselves navigating through a labyrinth of perplexing choices and unforeseen technical tribulations. In such instances, troubleshooting with finesse becomes imperative, as the need to restore your system's integrity and compliance with standard configurations arises. This guide delves into the intricate process of rectifying an errant installation, shedding light on the complexities surrounding both the protection software and the clandestine methodologies employed by its users.

When it comes to software, the allure of a free, cracked version might seem tempting. However, delving into the world of cracked software poses significant risks that extend far beyond the initial thrill of accessing premium features without paying. In this section, we'll explore the dangers associated with using unauthorized copies of software, shedding light on the myriad of threats they introduce to both your system and your digital security.

Installing cracked software opens the floodgates to malware infiltration. Without the security measures and updates provided by legitimate vendors, your system becomes vulnerable to various forms of malicious software. Zero-day threats, in particular, are a constant menace when utilizing cracked versions. These exploits target vulnerabilities that the official software developers would otherwise patch in a timely manner, leaving your system exposed to exploitation. Furthermore, cracked software often comes bundled with additional, unwanted "features" such as adware, spyware, and other forms of malicious code that can compromise your privacy and security.
