Hi all,

Below is a note from Bill Boehme regarding Rindy's death and a possible memorial.  I would support that but think there needs to be buy-in from more than just our class.  The Advancement Office needs to canvass all the classes that were at Pomfret during Rindy's tenure.

In the meantime, please email Melissa Perkins Bellanceau (mbell...@pomfretschool.org) and copy Howie (ihma...@gmail.com) and Bill (willi...@centurytel.net).

Finally I just received the latest Pomfret Magazine.  There was no news from any of our classmates for which I apologize.  I should be more proactive.  In the meantime, please help my out by replying to this email with some news.  Met or talked with any classmates?  Retired?  Not retiring?  Grandchildren?  etc.

I understand from the recent Pomfret Magazine that Norval Rindfleisch died in Jan of this year.  Might there be any interest in setting up some type of memorial fund for him similar to Wyatt Garfield? I posed this question to Melissa Perkins Bellanceau (? sp) also late last week.

Rindy was a bright light on campus and he loved his role as “Johnny Unitas” in the pickup games of touch football.  However, I didn’t see him in the same category as Y Gar, Mannie, and several other faculty members who had a greater impact on me, so I am challenged about getting on board with setting up a special memorial in his memory.

 

Toby, about the only thing I can add for class news is probably pretty much universally enjoyed by many of our classmates. It’s finding the “Meaning of Life,” which can be summed up in one word: “Grandchildren!”  Especially before the innocence of infancy wears off.

 

Thanks for serving as our Class Secretary.
