Has anyone successfully adapted to Uberman after transitioning from an adapted state of Everyman.  I have been on Everyman (3 hour core, 3-4 naps) for about 6 months.  I just started Uberman and am curious to know how how others fared while transitioning.  You'd think it would be easy, but some people have told me they read some blogs saying it's not.  Any feedback would be nice.

So far it's been 36 hours since I had my last core sleep and I feel OK.  I have tried to adapt to uberman once (while on monophasic) and while I didn't mess up, it was so unbeable that I just gave in after 3 days.

I tried it a while ago but gave it up upon discovering it was hard after three days with a big accidental oversleep (you'd think you would feel great after the extra sleep but I felt terrible and was groggy all day). :)

I had been doing everyman for about 7 months when I decided to transition to uberman.  I made it 9 days before a 1 hour oversleep.  After that, it was very difficult to go any further than about 5 days before I would sleep for a few hours.  Still, it was really easy to go back to everyman afterwards, and I find that I can pull 2 or 3 days of uberman without issues if I need to, then hop right back to everyman.  Ultimately I decided that with the minimal amount of extra sleep it gives you over everyman, and the greater flexibility of 3 hour everyman, that's where I'll likely stay.

How did you sleep on Uberman days? Did you just replace your core with
a nap? Did the start times or end times of nap and core match?

My regular everyman schedule is 4am to 7am core, then three naps with no exact schedule, just mostly when I feel like I need them.  When I jump to uberman, I do my naps at 4, 8, 12, am and pm.
When I start an uberman day, I wake up at 7 like normal, but then at noon I take my first nap, and just go from there.  If I only take everyman naps through the day, and try to just do uberman at night, it doesn't work very well.  I've found that I need the naps every 4 hours during the day if I'm going to be alert all night.

I cannot understand the people that think that they can have huge gaps
in their uberman schedules. If you cannot sleep every 4 hours, don't
do uberman! It is of course possible to tweak it with an hour and
maybe two, and looking at Steve Pavlina, you can move them quite a
lot, but that's not until very far into adaption.
