The Lady Tata Memorial Trust (LTMT) is inviting applications for the
2012 Young Researcher Award from those with an outstanding track
record in biological sciences & are less than 40 years of age. The
award is effective from April 1st 2012.

Features of 2012 Lady Tata Memorial Trust Young Researcher Award

1. The amount of the Award is Rs. 25,000/- per month. This is in
addition to the regular salary which you will get from the host
institute.
2. You will also receive a contingency grant of Rs. 5.00 lakhs per
annum towards expenses on international and domestic travel,
consumables, minor equipment & other contingent expenses incurred in
connection with the implementation of research project under the
Award.
3. Duration: The award is initially for 3 years & is extendable
further by 2 years, after a review by the Trust's Experts' Committee.

Eligibility criteria for 2012 Lady Tata Memorial Trust Young
Researcher Award

1. You should be an Indian national

2. You should not be over 40 years of age as on 31st March 2012.

3. You should have a Ph.D. degree in any Biological Science or a
Master's degree in Medical Sciences, or an equivalent degree in
Biotechnology related areas. In addition, you should have a minimum of
4 years' professional experience in the specific area after obtaining
the degree.

4. You should be holding a regular position in a University or
organization or an institute in India.

5. You should be engaged in research and development & also have
publications arising from research in well-reconized peer-reviewed
journals or repute.

Last date for submitting application form: January 16th 2012.

How to apply for 2012 Lady Tata Memorial Trust Young Researcher Award

1. You will have to send a Money Order of Rs.500/- as Processing Fee
(this is a non-refundable fee) in favour of the Lady Tata Memorial
Trust, and the original postal receipt of the same should be attached
at the top of the original set of the application form.

2. You must super-subscribe on the left hand top corner of your postal
cover YRA-2012 as the code for your Award.

3. If selected, you will be called for an interview in the middle /
third week of March 2012 and based on personal interview, one young
researcher will be announced by the end of March 2012. The selected
Researcher will be required to commence research effective 1st April
2012.

4. Send you application along with separate summary sheets (8 copies),
duly forwarded by the host institute as per pro forma (see:
