Hi all,

The 0.9 version of the library has been released. This is a very small breaking change from 0.8, and largely a follow-on: many of the features marked as "experimental" in 0.8 have been graduated to "official" in 0.9. Check out the release notes and blog post for more on this update.

In addition, we've been able to release a large number of now 0.9-compatible elements in the PolymerElements Github organization. This includes a name-change: the old "core" elements are renamed now to "iron," and the UI elements in "core" have been moved into the "paper" set. We took the opportunity with this 0.5 => 0.8+ breaking change to clean up a lot of the organizing principles behind our "element product lines" - much more on the reasoning here in our elements blog post.

We deeply thank everyone for bearing with us on the road to a 1.0 for the library - we realize that lots has been moving very quickly. We hope that this 0.9 release will be a major stabilizing push, and the changes between 0.9 to 1.0 will be almost entirely bugfixes and performance improvements.

Thanks again, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Taylor, on behalf of the Polymer team

So, it's my understanding that extending elements is out and 'behaviors' is now the preferred method of sharing functionality between elements?
