Hi,

I'm starting to create a new framework on my company, i want to know if polymer works well on main mobile browsers, I mean (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS, etc).
¿Can I use templates and it will work well on Safari mobile? no matter if this works with polyfills, I just want to know if this will work on iPhone or iPad

Thanks so much.

Hi Carlos,

Yes, Polymer works on iOS under the polyfills: http://www.polymer-project.org/resources/compatibility.html

If you need examples, check out chromestatus.com and polymer-project.org on iOS. If something doesn't work, it's a bug :)

Hi Eric,

Thanks by your answer, I don't understand that table, on the column "Safari 6+" and "Mobile Safari" looks if they don't support "Templates" feature with polyfills, Can you explain me how can I interpret this info?

Thanks so much!

Hmm, I'm not 100% sure why those were marked as Unsupported. I believe it should be "Limited (Useable)". The reason being that the true inertness <template> provides can't be polyfilled. There could be other reasons I'm not aware of.

FWIW, webkit nightly has support for native <template>. It's coming!

Carlos, if you want to see an example for a iOS app created with Polymer, you can check out Padlock: https://itunes.apple.com/app/padlock-minimalist-password/id871710139
It also works great in Chrome for Android. The Android app is still in beta testing but you can already check it out by joining the Padlock Testers group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/padlock-testers/
