As I went through old e-mails I found a discussion about sleep after a resection (see below). I had totally forgot about it, but I had the same experience for the first 2,5 months after my resection - I just started sleeping 7-8 hours again a few nights ago - what a relief! I have been so tired... During the first six weeks or so I would also get up (like Christi) for 2-3 hours every night, having a snack, watching a dvd, browsing the net, before I was able to sleep again. Then there was a period when I would just wake up around 4 or 5 and not be able to get back to sleep. But, alas, now it seems like things are back to a more normal sleep pattern. I do have to rest a lot during the day, though, with two or three naps a day - usually a long one in the afternoon. How are you other post-resection PLDers  doing?

/Petra

Thank you all for posting your comments on here.  I have found so much information.  I just had my resection surgery in Iowa City and am doing ok.  Very anemic, and very tired but doing ok.  Also, has anyone found that after the surgery you have insomnia?  I can't sleep!!!!  Even with sleep aids I am up all night and get 2-3 hours a night.  (Used to be a 8-10 hour sleeper)

Anyway Thank you all!!!!!!

I always get up at 5 am and sleep about 9-10 pm. But it has been 16 years.  I still take naps.

Warmly,
Diane
