Does Lanreotide affect bone density?

to PLD Polycystic Liver Disease
I live in Australia (Adelaide) and have been taking Somatuline 120mg Autogel (Lanreotide) for 5 years to help with PLD.  My liver volume is currently 4551ml.

I have just started having rib fractions (without incident). I am about to have some scans to determine if the cause is due to the large liver.  I also have osteopenia.

Does anyone know if Lanreotide can cause low bone density?  And are there any papers on this subject?

Hi

Im not on that drug so I dont know without research but PKD and PLD can lead to vitamin d deficiency can cause renal osteodystrophy which is like osteoperosis. It affects bone  density severely.

I too have osteopenia, I tried a drug to decrease this. Then I went on a Holiday from the drug. I now take 4 micrograms of estrogen suppository twice a week, It is a very small dose and has been studied for about 20 years,

I've been on pasereotide for 3 years and Somatuluine Lanreotide for going on 4 years without any issues that I know about bone density
Seems to help the growth of the liver

Wow this is great news! My dic won’t allow me to take it I’mm 73years old.

Be sure to keep getting liver function tests,
