The International Program in Survey and Data Science is a joint program
offered through the University of Mannheim and the Joint Program in Survey
Methodology - a consortium of the University of Maryland, the University of
Michigan, and Westat - and will start in Spring 2016 [1]. *All courses in the
program are fully **administered online* [2]*.*

The International Program in Survey and Data Science offers:

- A multidisciplinary curriculum [3] with a core focus on survey
methodology and data science that prepares you for the challenges of working
with designed data from surveys and organic data (aka "found data" or "big
data"). A number of elective courses allow you to shape your curriculum
according to your personal and professional needs.

- A flexible, web-based learning [4] environment that allows you to take
courses from anywhere in the World.

- Live interaction with world-class faculty [5] from leading universities
and organisations who will share their academic and practical experience with
you.

Application for the first cohort (Spring 2016) of the full program will *open
in November 2015. For the first cohort until 2017,* *participation is
tuition-free for enrolment through the University of Mannheim*. After this
test period from 2018 the organisers plan to establish a Professional Master
Programme and students of the test phase (if accepted and programme will be
continued by the student) will be accredited for already achieved credit
points. Participants are expected:

- to attend a total of two workshops on-site

- to participate in the program evaluation

- to spend the same amount of time overall on all activities in the course as
in an on-site course
