Today Julia, Melody, Kate, and Russ installed the second 4x8 garden bed, placing it next to the wicking bed we installed last year. We used redwood and it looks stellar. The bed frame was filled mostly with a hot and steamy

BT Green compost from Home Fires nursery, bulked with some loamy sand screened from John and Louise's adjoining construction project, and "seasoned" with 5 gallons of biochar from Ag Energy Solutions. Melody and Russ will be planting today's bed, and they have planted the wicking bed. I hope the tomato plants survived today's hail!
After Russ and Kate pounded a couple of post holes into the rubble below, Greg and I (Judy supervising) proceeded to install primitive signage. (
Photo) On the sign I posted the most recent plan, with the current 2 beds highlighted in orange, and the next 2 beds to be built are highlighted green.
It is great to see the project moving forward.
Warm regards,
Phil
