The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose" is a gesture with friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture. It consists of extending the thumb and smallest finger while holding the three middle fingers curled, and gesturing in salutation while presenting the front or back of the hand; the wrist may be rotated back and forth for emphasis. The shaka sign is similar to the letter Y in the American manual alphabet in American Sign Language. The shaka sign should not be confused with the sign of the horns, where the index and pinky finger are extended and the thumb holds down the middle two fingers.
In coastal Brazil, the shaka sign, known as the "hang loose" (also derived from an eponymous clothing brand, which uses the shaka as a logo), is a common gesture. Ronaldinho usually celebrated the goals he scored by giving the crowd a double shaka. It is also associated with the Brazilian jiu jitsu community internationally.[citation needed]

YES. No child under 5 permitted on our boats, although participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver prior to boarding the vessel. The minimum weight required to parasail is roughly 150 pounds. If the flyer is less than 150 pounds, they will simply fly tandem with another parasailer, with their combined weight not to exceed roughly 400 pounds. Weight requirements may change on any given day or time due to the wind conditions. Again, safety is always our number one priority.

Hang Loose is the best! I measured and bought what I thought would fit me, but when it came it was way too tight. I reached out about an exchange and not only did they exchange it but they told me the keep the others and give to someone I knew. What a great experience, plus the bracelets are super cute!
You can simply turn up, or book your ride ahead of time online on the Hangloose website. Please do check the opening times and hours on the Hangloose website. There is no need for an Eden admission ticket or pass to take part.
Hangloose opens an hour early (on request) so that disabled users can have exclusive use of the area, offering a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the SkyWire with friends or family. Contact the Hangloose team to book, and for more information.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, such as high winds or thunderstorms, the Hangloose team would always endeavour to contact the purchaser as far ahead of time as possible, and another day or time for your experience will be arranged.

When "Hangloose" started popping up around the islands in 1984 and slowly made it's way inland -- people stopped and stared! "What?! A bright neon gecko with shades? Eventually the Skaka made it over to the mainland. Californians picked it up quickly- keeping it to the "hang loose" mentality that seems to have permeated into our modern global surf culture. Shortly thereafter, and of course thanks to adrenaline seekers, it made its way into hang gliding and skydiving for the very same reasons of "hang ten" or "hang loose," beginning in the late 1960's. Onward it traveled as a form of expression, as surfers looked for those endless summers. Landing in Brazil in later 1970's and 80's it soon spread along the coast. Brazilians are great for adopting the positive messages in life and used it also in Jiu Jitsu. Due to the internet and global appeal of the martial art and the epic rawness of surfing it just kept on going- you get the point . .
