Hi,
I'd like to suggest another API call, which simply returns the number
of active polls.
Background is that we have a phone App that uses the PollEv API to
fetch/display a list of polls, and let people vote on one of them.
For convenience we tried to directly present the poll options to the
user if there is only one poll in the list of active polls. We had to
fetch the complete XML list and count the entries. The App therefore
goes into a wait state (loading wheel) or would show a list with one
entry before diving into that poll.
It would be much more convenient if we could quickly fetch the count
of active polls and in case of ==1 we'd just dive in without needing
to do lots of expensive stuff.

best regards
Martin

P,S.: Ok ok...I also wanted to have that first post ;D ...duh

Hi Martin,

We're going to be pairing down the /my/polls JSON payload to
(hopefully) speed this up, but we have no plans to offer an aggregate
on the number of active/nonactive/etc polls. I'm going to be detailing
this in another post on the mailing list!
