Is it possible to submit responses via the API (or other dynamic
method)? The goal being a custom interface (desktop application level)
using Poll Everywhere as the back-end.

We don't have an official API for that, but if you open up a network monitor window in your browser you could see how this all works; of course if we change how that works, it could break your application. Note that this approach is not supported by Poll Ev.

If you need to guarantee that this API won't break and want full support, you can engage our professional services team to fully commit to such an API. We send our development team into our application to build an API interface for the functionality you need, document everything at http://api.polleverywhere.com/, and test it. Then we run those tests every evening to make sure that the API never breaks. Email sup...@polleverywhere.com if you're interested in this arrangement and we'll give you a quote.

Take care!

Dear Brad,

you make it very clear here that there is no official Web-service API for sending votes from an application to PE.
Mimicking the traffic of a browser would work but is not officially supported.

My question is now: Is it OK to embed the HTML voting page at
into the Webview of an application, such that users of the application would be able to vote through the embedded web interface?
Your voting page would then be rendered within an HTML-browser, which is in-turn embedded within an app; as opposed to directly viewed in an HTML browser.

all the best
Martin

You're more than welcome to drop the /web page into an iframe in a webpage.

Thanks. This sounds like a good alternative to using the API.
Would this also work for the Webpage dropped into an iPhone/Android App?

best

I think so. You'll have to make sure those browsers support iframes.
